there will be no bounce with Selles. there will be no clearing of the confusion. no new ideas, no new voice or leader to follow out of the relegation zone. its this idea that football is a simulation run on numbers again, all we need to do is adjust the pieces on the board a bit and things will change. its nonsense, football is chemistry and magic and unquantifiables. happiness and belief are what wins games. not sure that there is much of either in the dressing room now.
Marsch talks hit boggy ground! Quicksand out the replacements! Saints swamped with fresh applicants. Mushy locals enraged! Final saints Quagmire cannot be avoided - giggedy!
Our club has been a laughing stock this season. The only positive I can think of is that I don’t think I’ll ever be as embarrassed as when they released that “we are Southampton” song.
This really has been a cluster **** of a season. It was obvious we were going down when Hummel produced that gopping away shirt. The football gods hate us for it.
Nathan Jones is the Tinkerbell of management, apparently. He would have been great if only we just believed in him more. This is a bit bizarre re: Marsch. At the same time, I'm okay with continuing under Selles if a genuinely good option doesn't present.
Appointing Jones was honestly the most obviously horrific managerial decision I’ve ever seen us make. And that says something when you consider our history. It was wrong on literally every level. The fact they went for him, after weirdly undermining Ralph instead of starting fresh in the summer screams that we are ****ed for a long time. These guys don’t have a ****ing clue what they’re doing.
Of all the complaints I've heard from you mate, that's the worst by a country mile. That shirt is the best shirt I've ever owned. Bloody love it.
That said, a basis of an Identity can be in part defined by what is not... yer AllardDyches or West Ham/Sunderland big club cast-off journey man approach Gao era: We got rid of Hughes and established a style and philosophy which was adopted from the senior team to the U15's as an intended pathway Later Gao and now Sport Republic: We invest precocious youth with a bit of x-factor who are chomping at the bit for first team top flight action
Appointing Jones was a gamble that didn’t pay off. I have no problem with that. This thing with Marsch feels like rushing up to the bookies window, hesitating, getting cold feet about the stake, and missing the off.
Sorry . I meant IF they offered him 18 months or less , that’s an insult . if we go down and he gets us back up , that’s approx 18 months , he would want at least 1 year in the pl to see what he can do with us . if he’s offered the same and by some miracle he does keep us up , he will probably deserve 2 full years in the pl with us .
