The Irish question is completely different to the Scottish. There is already about 3/4 of Ireland independent, this is due to partition about 100 years ago. Not to mention the decades of carnage that followed.

So because Scotland is a whole country and not been split then Brexit doesn't affect the people who live there and their opinions of how they should be governed even though the majority of them voted against it and have had to endure it anyway?

No, the majority of Ireland were/are a fully paid up member of the EU already. Due to the GFA Dublin has had a political say in Northern Ireland. NI will remain part of European institutions while the rest of the UK won't. There is effectively an economic border down the Irish sea.
