To be fair, after the initial 'shock', we did all say when we had NJ to bin him and stick with Selles until the end of the season.
I don’t want to be included in this ‘all’, think it is a terrible decision if it’s what we will go with.
As mad as it would be, I would genuinely prefer we make fools of ourselves and rehire Ralph than give it to Selles - at least he is an actual manager! It is amazing that SR have come in, spent £120m in 2 windows and somehow made us worse than under Gao.
I would expect Ankersen to get the boot if we go down off the back of this. Or Solak walks (but he has invested too much I expect). Don’t see how he wouldn’t fuming with these antics. Assuming the short term deal is Ankersen’s idea of course
If you cover someone with enough bullshit, they forget that it smells. I don't blame Solak here, but Ankersen...
He is SR, well, a huge part of it. I don't think there is a SR without Ankersen, only way he goes is if we are sold completely.
I just don’t really understand the logic of not giving Marsch a 18 month/2 year deal. If they want to sack a manager if they come in and don’t keep us up then it’s not going to cost us that much to do that if he only has a year left anyway. Only logical conclusion I can come to is that there is someone else they are happy with aswell to be in charge, happy enough not to give it to Marsch with an extra year contract, and will go for them now, whether that is Selles or someone else
We better hope this isn’t true. Because Solak walking would be a disaster. And I can’t imagine he has a very warm and fuzzy opinion of Ankersen right now
I am unreasonably seething about this, really feel like I need to get a grip! Utterly infuriating levels of incompetence on display.
I have to say that my raised eyebrows and tut reflex is getting one hell of a workout now. Almost on the verge of cussing.
Jesus we are an embarrassment. What a mess. I really don’t see Selles is what we need right now as a team looking to build to come back up or as a team that needs galvanising and a fresh voice to inspire the players and fight for the great escape.
Sticking with Selles imho is a resignation of relegation. No experience really as a manager, and team didn’t exactly rip Sheff Wed apart when he was in charge. Oh well
