Rubén Sellés named manager until end of the season

I can’t say I really care either way.

Wasn’t excited about Marsch and certainly wouldn’t bend the knee to a significant long-term deal given we could be paying him off again in three months.

Will be interesting to see where we turn next because this suggests we are just chasing a firefighter and then we’ll review in the summer. (probably sensible, unless you love Marsch)

Thought he would be a good fit, but it is a near impossible task for anyone to keep us up so not overly bothered. Probably give Lampard a 4 year deal now

I don’t understand why we wouldn’t give a longer term deal though. Marsch would be a top championship manager if we go down so what’s there to lose?

 

Have you met Danish Jesus? He's far cleverer in his head than everyone else.

 

One thing I will say is the players do seem to like Selles. Give him the Chelsea game as it's a free hit and if we get a result or even play well in a narrow loss give him a chance.

 

I'm only annoyed because I want us to get a bit of stability. We are 75% down but there is still I think a 25% chance of a recovery. We need stability and basically NJ has IMO cost us our place in the Premier League - well him and SR weird decisions.

I wasn’t under any illusions about Marsch being some saviour, but he was acceptable in our present situation and probably about as good as we could get. We needed stability and to get organised.

This is crash and burn territory. Selles has been involved in coaching some of the worst football we have seen in years and while that’s not down to his own instruction, I do not feel that it is appropriate in anyway shape or form to have him holding the wheel at an absolutely critical juncture.

If SR don’t get their finger out of their arse pronto and sort this ****ing horrendous mess of their own making out then this ****e will bleed into the Championship with us next season too.

I was dead against Marsch at first but was sort of coming round purely based on the fact our options are so limited. I am convinced Selles isn't the answer, but no idea where we go from here.

 

Looking at the options I’m of the opinion that unless someone comes out of nowhere we may as well just stick with Selles as none of the options will keep us up anyway. Look for someone in the summer where we can potentially sell it as “one of the promotion favourites” and get some better options interested
