Think that was me mate. Strength in depth thar in all honesty, anyone in the squad could be in the starting 11, and that's rare.
Appreciate that mate he was really good wasn't he. Contender for MotM although I'd give that to Patterson who was immense. Thought O'Nien looked right at home in CM and as the commentator said he was popping up everywhere. Did both the defensive and attacking duties nice and tidy.
To put it into perspective exactly this time last year Neil was 3 days into his new job managing us after Johnson was sacked
The "steel and streetwise" part of our game as you put it is what really impresses me. I knew most of these lads were talented from the first time I watched them play, but the main criticism was that they were lightweight or a bit soft. There's no sign of that anymore, I feel like even Jack Clarke and Amad can stand up for themselves these days and in our back 4 (plus O'Nien), we give plenty back too.
ooops, i forgot again...cheers again RTB... aye well, i can understand readings game, they tried to slow it down and disrupt and hold out for a draw...not the best to watch but when you need the points it is a common 'tactic'...now these absolute dirty b@stards, so many nasty fouls and the constant pushing on patto, even the elbow from martin and not once did the ref speak to them, also there were a couple of 'possible red' cards that never even got a yellow along with the multitude of constant fouls that began with a rugby tackle on roberts...when that escaped a card i knew that only going to continue, so once again the ref could/should have put his marker down very early yet let a lot go. now to us... no idea where to start or who to start praising first, this squad just keep on doing it and it seems everyone we buy/loan just improve, in themselves and in the squad, the back line were once again superb with the experience of batth (who seems to have taken a bit of a 'back seat' lately) to the running and fighting of the rest. midfield, whoever gets on the pitch just pass it around, may take a while to get going sometimes but you just know they will hit it right...and i am gutted gelhardt never got his goal tonight, lead the line well with a great fighting attitude and was all over the pitch. my MotM is patto, seemed to take everything so easy and every shove or jab was just brushed off and the obvious one, the penalty save...he kept an eye on it and he lifted his leg to the ball to kick it out, it was not the fact that the ball hit him...he meant it. not even sure if it is all TM's doing as i honestly believe they have the belief in themselves to change things slightly on the pitch in 'real time' although i do believe he allows them to have that belief as sometimes well laid plans can go all to feck.
And can't be overtaken by anyone in the games tomorrow night. (Unless Blackburn win by 17 clear goals)
KLD insta has tickled me haha. ‘Happy Valentines, thanks for understanding’ Tags his missus and it’s the SAFC official result post ha. Legend.
Random and totally utterly pointless fact. We are 10th in the home table. 5th in the away table. And still 5th overall.
