I am not sure of the exact rules, but I know he has to play a number of first-team games, but I wasn't sure whether they just note appearances, whether that is a start or coming on as a sub towards points for getting a work permit. This is something Liam must know about from his Brighton days as that is what they have been doing. They clearly have a plan, and they obviously know what they are doing.
From what I am hearing both from training and playing he is a real talent. I don't think we will see the best of him until next season, but hopefully will be worth the wait.
They do have a plan, he's on loan for the season in Peru to get more games. Are you sure he's made any appearances for any of our teams, I can't see any mention of him being in any squad at any level?
Don't think he's saying he's played for City, just noting that a 10 minute cameo might count for points at the team he's loaned at, rather than just starts.
When I said he came on over the weekend I was referring to the Peruvian club he is on loan at. And was posing the question of whether coming on as a sub rather than starting contributes to the games played in order that he can eventually get his work permit and that maybe that was the plan just to bring him on for 10 minutes which contributed as a first team appearance.
Ah, righto, sorry misunderstood. In that case, these sub appearances are doing him no favours, the points are based on percentage of minutes played, not appearances.

Canny move by the club. A month spent in Spennymoor will seem like a year spent in any other civilised town. He's gonna come back far older, wiser and with a knarled, worldly, life well lived experience. Or possibly not at all.
If you're a full international, you pretty much quality anyway, but the points are based on both international and league games, the lower ranked the league, the more minutes you need to play.
Fair enough. He did become a full international recently so hopefully if he makes the squad for the remainder of the year he’ll be able to come back for pre season if he impresses
He can still take part in pre season games, he just can't claim a wage. Peru's next fixtures will be the 20th-28th March, they're playing Germany on the 25th of March and presumably will play another team during that international break. There's also games to be played between the 12th and 20th June, so we can only hope that he's picked for some of them or that his current club give him a lot more game time between now and then, otherwise he'll be there a good long while. If he's there for a year and is due back next January, then there's three Autumn international breaks (grrr) in September, October and November. Celi has five international breaks, so probably ten games to get his minutes up or he's stuck.
