Oh good, chasing another manager who has stated he doesn't want a new job until the summer. Another few days wasted.
On the Managerial front, I am firmly of the belief we should let Orta get on with it and decide based upon ability and availability rather than hysteria, that is his job and he is the professional. Many on here fawn over the Brighton and Brentford models of recruiting players and managers. Who was Thomas Frank before Brentford appointed him? Would take him in a heartbeat and is my number one choice (as I have said consistently since Marsch got the heave ho). Were Brighton fans wetting themselves about De Zerbi being plucked from Ukranian football to replace Potter? I doubt it. Another I would take right now. Just because we have heard of Poch, Tuchel and Nuno etc doesn't mean they would be a resounding success, that's even if they would come. Rutter I think has the X Factor and, I for one, won't be judging him after a few cameo appearances. A few years ago, we signed a Brazilian that I really wasn't sure about for a few games. Ben was totally convinced we had a superstar on our hands. I thought some of the long cross field passes were outrageous when they came off but dangerous in the extreme when they didn't. If my memory is correct, one of his early games was away at Old Trafford and, after they had scored in the first minute or so (McTominay??) our new Brazilian got caught in possesion on the touchline, they broke and scored again. 2 down after something like 4 minutes?? I was incandescent and said to Ben, "you can keep your new superstar mate, he will never make it in the Premier League". He loves reminding me to this day what a fabulous player Raphinha was for us
I'd have kept Marsch until the end of the season then appointed Corberan if he continued his good work at West Brom.
Seeking clarification here. So you think Marsche would have taken us down or you would have sacked him after keeping us up (twice) ?
If he takes it does that we mean we only have to pay him 2 weeks compensation ? Surely he can't get paid double bubble.
Everton looked a shambles at times, from the few clips I saw. We can certainly catch them on a quick counter attack.
Yes Shaks no doubt we’ll catch them a few times with quick counter attacks. Sticking the ball in the net seems the difficult bit
Last year we could only get Marsch to come in late. This year there is no one willing to come till the summer and maybe not even then if they are offered better terms where they are. Just because we got a coach (laugh) last year does not mean we will now.

I think Marsch would have kept us up. I don't think keeping us up this season was the aim of the board or acceptable to the (majority) of the fan base. On that note, send him away with our best wishes and get a manager who can take us the next step.
