Marsch, for all his faults, won 2-1 at Anfield, 3-0 at home to Chelsea, drew 0-0 at Newcastle, narrowly lost at Spurs and at home to Arsenal. It's the results against the teams in and round the bottom that let him down.
It is Diet Ralph, but considering the collective trauma we've all just experienced over the last three months, it's no bad thing.
First time we’ve had a manager with a Twitter account since Ronald. That’s a positive omen, right? On that note, check out the second photo.
Slot / Svennson / Knutson / Ange were never gonna leave their current jobs mid season to join us in 20th. Gallardo / Poch / Tuchel just pipe dreams. Our shortlist was probably between Marsch, Gerrard and Juric, and, whilst he intrigues me, I doubt Juric’s man marking system would work in the prem (and that’s another shedload of compensation to pay if he did actually want to come here). It will be interesting to see who Leeds bring in.

If this all goes through, then welcome Mr Marsch. It's a free hit really with many(not me) thinking it's too late anyway, good appointment for the Championship with a chance of keeping us up. Just pick simple systems and the right pegs for the right holes and we will have a good chance. We do have some great young players and hopefully we get someone a bit like Ralph 1.0!
I think someone who can put an arm around the shoulders of our young team might help get the best out of them.
I wonder how long the contract is? I expect we had a fair bit of bargaining power, especially considering our league position, because I doubt he was expecting a 2nd chance to manage in the premier league so soon after getting sacked. I wonder if we have given him til the end of the season with a huge bonus and promise of a new contract if he keeps us up.
Until the end of next season I suspect. It's been reported that Marsch is willing to accept a shorter deal.
Im going to guess two and a half, just on the basis that we probably compromised. I imagine one and a half was probably our starting point
I actually feel quite positive about Marsch. He will most likely have the same issues as Ralph on the big/small teams factor where it's almost easier to get a win against a big team than a small one, as many will sit back and hit us on the break and the style doesn't have a plan B for that. Hence Leeds results. We do have the players to fit and potentially do very well though.
Personnally I really don’t get it, unless the list of people who were interested was not very inspiring. At least it’s not Big Sam or Gerrard and Lampard
He will also have instant respect as he has managed at the top level before. Hopefully he has learned from any mistakes made at Leeds. And ultimately he has Leeds above us, who IMO have a much worse squad.
