    You obviously didn’t see last night’s game. Coady at fault for Liverpool’s second goal and Tarkowski committed a series of errors all evening.

    Odds for us to be relegated;

    Before Jesse was sacked 15/8 (after Forest)
    After Man U away 9/4
    Currently 9/4

    Seems the bookies aren't too concerned about our lack of a manager.

    Current other odds;
    Southampton 1/5
    Bournemouth 2/9
    Everton 11/10
    Forest 9/4
    West Ham 11/2
    Wolves 7/1

    We would not have spent £35m for Rutter's potential.

    RB Saltzburg only paid £6m for Haaland's potential.

    In 2020, Dortmund paid £20m for Haaland.

    If you pay £35m, you expect results

    Rutter isn't the only young lad to have ever had a slow start but he's hardly had a run of games to prove his worth. He looks like a rabbit in the headlights at times but as also shown a few nice touches, we haven't the luxury of being able to experiment just yet.

    Definitely ditched.

    Wee Willy is a smart guy (to not give our tactics away), the next question if he had answered yes would have been what has changed.

    It was obvious watching on Sunday that our shape and tactics are completely different to what Jesse had us doing before. Nothing special or groundbreaking but a system that would have stopped Fulham and Bournemouth having the freedom of Elland Road for example.

    Marsche's tactics were great for parts of the game but virtually impossible to sustain for 90 mins resulting in overloads and the concession of avoidable goals.

    Just for balance though, Man U's first on Sunday was an overload at the back post (3 v 2);

    1) Summerville didn't track Shaw deep enough, being 10 yards too far forward meant they played a long diagonal out wide, whereas if he'd been that little bit deeper the pass wouldn't have been attempted.

    2) Once Shaw had the ball Koch came too far over (to close the gap to Ayling) and past our front post by about 5 yards with the knock on effect that Wober have to close the gap to Koch and Firpo has to tuck in as well. With Koch out of position Man U had one runner plus Weghorst and Rashford attacking our penalty spot thus increasing the chances that a good cross would find the head of one of them.

    Conclusion;

    Due to tiredness/fatigue we lost our excellent shape for a few vital seconds and it cost us the game.

    I understand why people think that… but he was bought because they thought he’d be worth 70m in 2/3 years time. Same as CDK. There was nothing in his limited track record that said he was anything other than a talented rough diamond.

    On Georginio Rutter he is going to be a superstar and we should start to see flashes very soon.

    On the manager keep your eyes peeled for another top Argentine coach who may agree to take over mid season.

    Gerardo “Tata” Martino
    Paraguay National team 34% win ratio
    Newells Old Boys 51% win ratio
    Barcelona 68% win ratio
    Argentina National team 66% win ratio and Messi’s fav coach
    Atalanta Utd 55% win ratio
    Mexico National team 64% win ratio

    available as just left the Mexico job

    Nuno wouldn't have been my first choice, but starting to look like the club are running out of options. Would rather we wait until the summer to get a proper manager in, that Spanish fella looks good and out of contract in six months. I've a horrible feeling we'll settle for Gerrard, meaning another 2 or 3 year contract and then we'll miss out on the better options in the summer. I'd be happy for Skubala to get it on temporary basis until we can get someone in but that obviously is a massive gamble.

    Bamford was off it on Sunday and Rutter looked a bit lost to be honest. Hopefully he'll start to click sooner rather than later. Can't believe we didn't get anything out of that game. Actually I can, we've got no-one who can finish, contrast that with the Mancs who put the ball in the net 4 times, clinical finishing the difference for all our endeavors.

    Again Stats say different jambo, our xg against was never better than against forest and Brentford… Villa created little West Ham likewise apart from two individual fck ups. Facts say marsch had tightened up the defence as much as possible barring individual incompetence.

    Freeze frame the point we win the ball for both goals at old toilet and tell me it aint the hallmarks of cousin Jesse :emoticon-0105-wink:

    Of course we still press hard at times to win the ball back (every team does you know).

    It's just more nuanced and much less frequent than before, plus I'm referring to the general shape and set up anyway.

    Leeds United have made their move to appoint Gerardo Martino, who has the seal of approval from Lionel Messi.

    Argentine outlet TNT Sports claim that Leeds have now made contact with the 60-year-old as their search continues to replace Jesse Marsch.

    They report that Martino has not turned Leeds down just yet, but would rather take over a new team at the end of the season.

    In July 2013, when Martino took over at Barca, Messi said: “I like Tata Martino. He is a great coach and he showed that in the Clausura with what he did for the team, the way it ended and how he did it.

    “He gets his teams playing well and we all respect him.”

    The report also says that Martino could be another Marcelo Bielsa type manager for Leeds, playing attractive, attacking football.

    Thanks for the heads up on pressing.. I was referring to how narrow we looked. So the rest of the time where we were playing this new look formation and style we lost 4-0 to an out of sorts Man U side missing the hub of their midfield which according to their fans has been the secret of their success <cheers>

    Sounds suited to our style, a few big fails with national teams but lots of experience and beggars can't be too picky I guess. I'd still much prefer Nuno Santos, I just don't get it with those we are fixated on getting
