We will have spoken to agents before the Jones announcement was made. Similarly, agents of interested managers will have contacted us before Jones was sacked. I don't doubt that many managers were interested, but it will have been the likes of Lampard etc.
Sorry but I don’t see how a 1:30, filmed media promo is good proof of his man management in relation to football. Just because he’s nice does not mean he is a good man manger. In fact I’d personally say if he is like that with everyone then he definitely isn’t because not every player thrives on niceness, some need the tough love approach.
I don't really care anymore to be honest. Reached a level of complete fatigue with Saints. He's got a free hit to the end of the season (we're down anyway) Why not back him? We're bottom of the league, completely devoid of all identity and confidence. Back the bloke and take it out on SR next season when they realise that the Championship and the Premier league aren't pretty much the same and desperately need the fans back. Rooney/Lampard/Gerrard will just bring a ****ing media circus with them. "Frank Lampards Saints" Yeah, **** off.
I don’t see why we’re down already. We are 4 points from safety and 10 points from 12th with 48 points to play for, wtf are people on about with us being down?
I have seen Marsch interviewed a lot and yes he sometimes says American things but he seems to talk up his teams and take responsibility for what happens on the pitch. He tries to play positive and attacking football. All that felt impossible with NJ in charge…
I'm not even sure it screams that. Boro were in the relegation zone when they sacked him earlier this season. Now they're 3rd.
Respectfully, I don';t think you know much about Marsch. He is not Nathan Jones, the players will know who he is and he has a good reputation. You sound like a casual EPL fan who hasn't really paid any attention to Leeds and is looking only at the league table to make a judgement.
Holy ****, Lincs that is completely reasonable, absolutely correct and fully agreeable. We really have reached a turning point.
Some people have us down before the first game of the season kicks off. It's the default to doom syndrome.
Because whoever the new manager is whether he is brilliant (Poch) or ****e (Marsch/Gerrard/Wilder/Lampard) we're not suddenly going to turn into a decent side. Half our team are really ****ing ****. Bazunu isn't going to turn into a PL goalkeeper. Che can't hit a cows arse with a banjo and we have such world beaters in our squad as lyanco, moi and A Armstrong. On what planet do people have us staying up? This will be manager number 3 for the season and SR haven't exactly covered themselves in glory with their picks so far, have they? No mate, we're playing championship football next season and is sad as that is its been on the cards for a very long time.
I’ve said I don’t know much about him and my issue is not with his talents, whatever they might and might not be, my issue is with the hiring of a manager that was sacked 7 days ago to save a team that is well within the possibility of being saved. My other issue is that it’s happened so fast that it doesn’t sound at all like they’ve tried other options and just gone straight for him. There will be no grace period with Marsch. He doesn’t get 3 points in his first two games then everyone is gonna wonder why they got him in the first place and the toxic levels will be right where they are now. Also from the players perspective I don’t see why they’d put the effort in for him. I can’t point out better options but this just feels dumb because if it backfires then SR have nowhere to hide.
