Shrewsbury have signed Aaron Wildig on a months loan http://www.shrewsburytown.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10443~2509855,00.html http://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/page/ProfilesDetail/0,,10335~48289,00.html another midfielder to come inside along Wallace. He will be allowed to play in the FA Cup game against Newport on Saturday. He has played in a few games for Cardiff as a first choice and more recently as a sub. What are peoples thoughts on him?
what division are the shrews in? he has talent but hasnt really got much of a look in for a while now, he could do a job at a lower league for sure, but his career here has stalled since the 'all or nothing' season last year where there was no margin to put in kids who may or may not have been up to the task of getting us promoted.
A loan deal will do him good, can only ever be a bit player for Cardiff but might do well in the lower leagues. Good Luck to him.
Cheeky - anyone would think you'd never slummed it with the lower orders. What division are Cardiff in, I never look at the higher ups? I'm kidding - we've not had much luck with young midfield loanees recently so I hope this one works out well.
Lower leagues, we've been there more times than I want to remember... T shirt is worn out Just remember if we can do it so can the Shrews keep the faith
strange one this, another young holding midfielder who doesn't score many goals... the plus side. young, bags of energy, eager to learn, will plug a few of our gaps in midfield left by injuries and suspensions. the negative. inexperienced, may leave us weak in midfield, hope he's not rash in the challenge like Wallace, may upset the balance of the side and will be unsure of how the rest of the team play. also could find it tough with some of the bully boys in this league.........havent we got some midfielder ready to break through our youth team that can plug the gaps?....
Shrews are my 2nd favourite team this season so far Wildig isn't getting a look in this season so I think its a good move for him. Not seen enough of him recently to give a fair assessment of current form but he's a decent enough player imo and can only benefit from regular games. Good luck to both him and you guys
Well Aaron didn't disgrace himself at all when he was forced into first team action by Dave Jones. Our injury crisis and transfer embargo two seasons back meant he was one of the few options available, and the boy did OK. Don't I remember him supplying the knock forward header for Chops to score a certain winning goal at the CCS against some team or other? Also had a lot of time for the Shrews since this August - dunno why.
welcome aaron and many thanks for the good wishes from caerdydd. funny enough the shrews are my first favourites. let us hope aaron helps the shrews win the unofficial welsh cup final on saturday. floreat salopia and amwythig am byth!
may be oldsparkey has a lot of time for the shrews because amongst others we beat swansea 3-1 in the carling cup. we added the scalp of swansea to derby county, man utd , wolves and nearly arsenal. let us hope we can cause similar carnage in the later rounds of the fa cup, if we get there. floreat salopia, amwythig am byth
Wildig is a good young player with potential............he got thrown in at the deep end a bit at Cardiff, but will certainly benefit from regular starts, should do a decent job at League 2 level
So did I. I was deliberately overlooking him to make the point - Wallace & Tutte (sounds like a music hall act) managed just over 2 games between them - so far.
