I really think Marsch would be ok. Gives us a chance of staying up as he did with Leeds last year, but more importantly would build us up again next year following the inevitable relegation. I love watching the high press and I’d welcome a return to it
Yeah, agree. Can totally see why they’d go Marsch. There’s also not much point suddenly trying to teach yet another new system to this squad with half of February already gone. If his approach aligns with the club strategy* (based on Ralph, it does) then go for him. He also strikes me as the type who’d stay and work hard to bring us back unless it was an unmitigated ****show and both parties didn’t enjoy working together and parted ways in the summer. *hiring Marsch and having Jones sandwiched between him and Hasenhuttl does just beg the question of what the **** we were playing at with NJ again
To save a bit of time I suggest Lincoln or Os put up a poll on when the next manager should be sacked.
Yesterday we were facing the prospect of Jones for the remainder of the season… and maybe next! Now we’re being sniffy about Marsch. C’mon guys things have got so much better in 24h.
NJ does play high energy aggressive football, unfortunately there was just nothing else. This inexperienced side desperately needs guidance on how to keep possession and close out a game. I fear we shall see more dropped points from winning position stats come back into the equation with Jesse, but at least getting into a winning position should be an improvement on the last two months and the ball might see more of the grass.
Thank god we’re back to normal. Disagreeing amongst each other. Really missed these days during Jones’s reign
Gian Piero Gasperini. Very unlikely, but would fit Rasmus' style but isn't a hidden jewel obviously. Hansi Flick also a bit too high profile, but the right style. Gallardo has been looked at by a few high profile Spanish clubs too. Marsch is now well underrated after time at Leeds and is a very good coach. Would still love Poch to return, but not going to hold my breath
I have kept checking when Season 3 of Ted Lasso is out. What I find exciting is that it may start at St Mary’s Believe I always thought tea was going to taste like hot brown water. And do you know what? I was right.
Marsch is very much a high-risk option, but at the same time, we might be best off going for risk right now. We needed solidity eight matches ago, but with our run in and current points total, we need wins. Something like 7W/2D/7L, and that means nearly suicidal bravery.
I think Marsch would be a good appointment, Philosophy and play style will generally suit our players quite well. He also prefers 4 2 3 1, Which Sets us up lovely.. Should we go down, I imagine he willl do very well in bringing us back up.
Jesse then? I can see some logic in that too. At least the football will be more attractive if not effective!
One good thing about Marsch is, assuming Selles does the Chelsea game, he’s pretty much guaranteed a win in his first game, with it being at Elland Road. It’s just how football works
I’m holding on to the idea that sometimes managers suit clubs, and just hope that Jessie suits Saints.
