I'm no Elon musk , but sacking your manager (rightfully so) to then replace him with another manager who that week has been sacked himself ain't showing great business sense. Infact its completely illogical.

There’s no way we’ll hire Marsch.

Disclaimer: I said exactly the same when the Jones news first appeared.

All we want is someone with a footballing identity. It needs to be someone who gets the players on side and is clear about how he wants to play.

It doesn’t matter if we lose all our games from here, as long as we see a genuine footballing ideology developing for next year.
I don’t think it needs to be high press but it does need to be disciplined!

Whoever comes in should be advised that picking a back 4 is a quick win with the fans.

For this reason alone I’m a no on Nuno.

Lage is interesting, a name I hadn’t considered but could fit what SR are looking for.

Dean Smith also fits that mould of PL Relegation battle experience AND Championship promotion

We have been bad with a 4 and with a 5. A 5 that shows some signs of being actively worked on in training where our better players are played in their better positions would, I think, be accepted by most fans.

God ****ing knows what our philosophy has been for the last 12 months. It isn’t damning to Jones that we were a mess then, but he should gave chosen a route to travel and stuck to it.

    Oh ****.

This would be worse than Jones. At least Jones had never managed at this level so it was an unkown risk - we have seen first hand that Marsch is sh*t!

Edit - Just clarifying that I mean the decision to hire him would be worse than the Jones decision at the time. In no world do I think Marsch would actually perform worse than NJ!

We could always ask Ralph to come back.

He has had a good rest, a good laugh, there is a new striker for him to work with and we are still paying him.

I'm sure that they're considering various managers at this stage, to be fair. I wouldn't expect them to unanimously, and immediately, agree on one manager.

Seems like a bit of a non-story at this stage.

    I think it’s maybe a bit harsh.

Marsch did actually get some results with Leeds. And never had them bottom of the league and deep in the **** to the extent we are.

I think people might need to rein in their expectations! A crucial factor is also whether the board are going **** or bust for survival or whether they want a manager who’s prepared to commit to the club even in the Championship.

He would not be worse than Jones. Not by a long way.

I thought that before we appointed Jones and it turned out he was effectively number one choice from the minute the news broke. Let’s hope this is not the same.

I don't mean in terms of performance, I mean the decision to hire him. Performance wise there aren't many that could do worse than Jones.

Marsch has been sacked from his last 2 jobs, one of which was a relegation rival in the same situation as us. We have just seen him fail in a very similar situation, it would be mad to hire him now.

At least Jones had a very good record, albeit in lower leagues.

Marsch imo is better than Jones. So on one level it makes sense. On the other hand it’s very unimaginative and shows that whatever method we use for scouting managers is broken.

But both tactically and as a bloke Marsch is better... Not too sure what went wrong at Leeds though.

Whenever I've seen Leeds they've always impressed me. Marsch would worry me defensively but at least he gets his teams pressing and they are exciting to watch. I'd much rather Marsch than someone like BFS or Gerrard.

    Definitely not Gerrard or Lampard.

They are in serious danger of becoming the Bruce and Allardyce of their generation.

His style of play and philosophy is actually what us as a fanbase want.

I watched Leeds take on Chelsea earlier this season and they destroyed Chelsea.

But how much is down to Marsch and how much is down to Bielsa laying the ground work?

Marsch came from the Red Bull school of clubs/managers like Ralph did. The issues Leeds had were very similar to us when Ralph was here and actually decent, felt like we dominated games but didn’t take chances and massively exposed defensively. Like others said Leeds were good to watch but they rarely won games as they basically played like an under 7 team all chasing the ball and committing everyone forward

Good way to raise our profile in the U.S. I bet SR would like a piece of that.
