Fair enough - still long odds and a huge upturn in form and belief, not impossible, it's happened over the years, but still rare enough for it to be unlikely. It would be great if it happened though - imagine what a joyous end to the season it would be for us long-suffering fans, especially those that splash their cash out week-in-week-out. It does no harm to dream.
Not to get to ahead of myself, but can people remind me of Nuno's style. I remember compact, good in possession, quick on the break with one striker as a focal point.
Bit boring, and a big fan of three at the back. But yes, compact. Weird that Gerrard is still clear frontrunner. That would be an extraordinarily odd move by the board, but then again, I find myself unsurprised by Ankersen doing very weird things.
What about that rugby fella? Woodward is it? A proper visionary would get him in to work with an old school wheeler dealer type manager. A match made in heaven
Nobody will have much of a clue yet. Doesn’t take much money to move the odds hugely as ultimately this is something that lots of people will get wind of before the bookies would so they don’t allow big money to be placed on the market and a few bets of relatively small amounts on the same person will make them favourite pretty quickly. Think it is safe to assume that we wouldn’t have been looking for a manager and have it in the works already based on the comments at the fans forum, so could be a little while before the new guy is appointed/identified
That is all from a baseless twitter account. Ignore it. Hiring Marsch after already seeing him fail in the PL would make the NJ look quite sensible!
Not personally sold on Nuno. He likes 3 at the back too and we know it doesn’t suit our players albeit I’d expect Nuno to be far better at getting us more proficient at playing it. Think he’s known for pretty boring football too, though of course we’d all take 1-0s right now. Don’t know who I want though, just be happy to move on from NJ.
He earned himself the nickname of “Yank Lampard” at Leeds. Which I guess is better than nj’s nickname of “useless twat”
If we end up getting Jesse I think I’ll find something better to do with my Saturday afternoons the next few months.
It’s going to be Dean Smith, in true Rasmus style. Maybe. Marsch would be as weird an appointment as Gerrard. Take one of the managers who has already failed in the PL this season.
Said this before but didn’t Semens, in an interview with Solent, infer that we were tracking Bruno Lage for a while and then he joined Wolves (and started quite well)? Maybe he’s on the list.
