You can put the spirit of Ecstasy on a Lada, but it doesn't make it a Rolls Royce.

Ladas probably lasted longer. Rollers were famous for their ability to disintegrate via the ferrous oxide lightening process.

Voters are ‘sick to death’ of net zero, says Lee Anderson

Rishi Sunak had his mini reshuffle this week and did very little of any consequence.

Clearly he does not think much of Grant Shapps as he put him in charge of the “Department for Energy Security and Net Zero” trying to sell the fantasy of Net Zero happening any time soon, which the Official Raving Loony Party will happily pick up in a year’s time. Even Boris could not sell telling everyone to cut their energy use by 15 per cent while switching to EVs that do nothing for climate change. Tell granny to switch off the heating and spend the money on a ‘Just Cremation’ policy.

Now why did he make a Red Wall MP, a former coal miner, deputy chairman of the Tory Party? Any sensible person would think that this was to try and reconnect with the Red Wall voters who gave the Tories an 80 seat majority in December 2019?

So the Left and the brain dead Twittersphere immediately put two and two together and got five, digging up past comments by Anderson.

He personally favours the return of the death penalty. That is not going to happen and is not Tory policy but the Twitterati thought otherwise.

He thinks that the Civil Service in Whitehall are into “woke nonsense”. Nobody really came out against that opinion as it is one that might be shared by large numbers of the population. Most of the top civil servants were appointed during the Blair/Brown era and are afflicted with political correctness disease and shirk from home.

He is also right that most people are fed up of hearing about Net Zero, especially as the way that it is being pursued costs the poorest in society the most. All those green subsidies on your energy bill were introduced by Ed Miliband when he was a minister in Blair’s government. Now he is a proper hypocrite in Starmer’s shadow cabinet. If the government wants to bring people’s energy bills down, it could remove the green element from them and put it into general taxation, most of which is contributed to by the top taxpayers.

How do they change the Lord’s Prayer: “Our Father, who art in heaven”...?

Nessie is obviously female because of the associated ending to the name of the Loch Ness – so blame Nicola Sturgeon! <laugh>
