It would be a dream but I don’t see him coming here at this point he won’t want to return to the Championship.
Indeed and yes a bit far fetched if all that happened but an instant return to management and the South coast
SR's task with replacing Jones is likely to be so much harder than it was with Ralph. We're now deeper into the season (eight more games have passed, alongside the mini-WC break). We're now further from safety (we were one point adrift, and only three points behind 12th). We've now had the January transfer window. Certain managers who might have been accessible in November will no longer be (either because they've been employed elsewhere, or are no longer interested). Other managers who might still be interested will inevitably now be asking for an overall package which is more expensive (whether that be salary, bonus, and/or length of contract). And on top of all of that, their own credibility is now on the line. They need to get the team, and the fans, immediately onboard. If they take another risk and it fails again, then they will be the ones who fans are chanting against next time. But I don't have any sympathy with SR at all. It's all their fault. Just like failing to sign a striker in the summer made their task so much harder last month; deciding to appoint Jones in November has made their task so much harder now.
Well whoever is appointed they better be really rather good. Haven't we got to win at least 50% of our games? That is not exactly how it is panning out at the moment.
If we win 50% that gets us to to 39 points which would definitely be enough. I think 36 would probably be enough so that is slightly under 50%
I think it’s going to be Rafa. Has experience of relegation fight and also championship, can see him being interested aswell
For the magic survival number yes. At the moment it looks more like the season we scraped out with Hughes in terms of totals so might need less, but it still needs an immediate and rather unlikely turnaround plus our remaining fixtures are pretty rough.
My guess is that 34 points will be the bare minimum requirement. Maybe more. But if we say 34 points for now, that's 19 points away. Which is 5 wins, 4 draws and 7 losses. Or 6 wins, 1 draw, and 9 losses. We've still got to play all of the "big 6" plus Newcastle. So that's 7 of those 16 games. I cannot see it happening. Not even close.
I think we have to go for Gallardo. Some previous options in Dyche and Tedesco have been snapped up.. Leeds also looking for a manager doesn't help us whatsoever, given they are certainly a more tempting option as it stands. Though it seems they are hellbent on the Rayo Vallecano manager.
Gallardo is the guy we should have got instead of Jones. Poch is reported to want the Real Madrid job
I would want Gallardo As a wild card Will Still from Reims. I just hope Rasmus doesn't choose the next manager.
Spurs, Liverpool, Chelsea all in rough patches of form. Others will have euro distractions. If we play every game like a cup final, we can pick up points in unexpected places.
Most well rounded and actually I think possible candidate to me feels like Nuno Espírito Santo. Reasonable PL performances at Wolves and has won the Championship. Not the most exciting, but realistic? Has the experience we need. We would still have to find a way to draw him away from Saudi bucks though. Gallardo is above our station for now I think.
