Was he not the bench, he was according to Sky and Twitter team sheet, I think I will have to practice spelling Lihadji as I predict he will be thenext one to watch, aint seen much of him but from what I have seen he looks the part , our scouts are doing a fantastic job <ok>,

I'm not surprised Ince played these tactics, considering when we played them earlier in the season and they pushed forward, he'll will have witnessed how unbelievably dangerous we are with a bit of space.
Just wish he was honest enough to admit , nothing wrong with actually playing those tactics for a draw away from home against one of the better teams in the league.
Wycombe got promoted and a play off final playing like that, but at least they were honest about it.
All he had to say when asked about it being grim was say yes sometimes the football is not pretty away from home but we had a game plan to stop them playing, not concede get at least a draw but try and nick a winner if possible.
Those were exactly his tactics and nothing wrong with them but he did like been called out on them, however we are talking about the bloke that apparently was referred to as the general at Man utd but as it turns out the only player that actually called him that there was Paul Ince himself

I have always liked Paul Ince and Jeff Brown but I dont think either of them will be too proud of that interview tbh at least I hope not. Going back to the game I will ask which manager made the best use of his resources. Reading weren't robbed imo but the paying customers were, it should be looked at , we should get 90 minutes of playing time for our money, its not too much to ask, and it should not be left to the referee alone to decide when to blow for it.

Ince was being a knob. I don't think Jeff Brown did anything wrong. It was Ince who jumped on the "grim" comment

The scouts are unbelievable like you say. I suspect the data side of things is playing a big part too, but there is no doubt somebody is using their eyes as well. It takes just 30 mins or so to know Lihadji has real talent. Michut as well, just watch how he receives the ball and you know he will play beuatifully. It is a million miles away from what we had got accustomed too. I also want to commend the academy lads because we are seeing some cracking talent coming through and the next couple of seasons should see the emergence of 2 or 3 stars from their too. It is as exciting a time to look forward to what this club can achieve as any I can remember really.

Nice that you mention some of our Academy boys with more to follow in the future , the U21s were unlucky not to follow up defeating the mighty magpies from up the road on Friday conceding a 93 mins equaliser to Southampton who were top of the league . That would have been a notable double if they had managed to hang on .

Graham Murty is an ubelieavble appointment in the academy mate. He is a very very good coach. He will have the u21s ready when needed I have no doubt. Really looking forward to seeing Zak Johnson come through as he looks a real star.

Ince setup his team with 6 defenders and no recognised midfielder, it was a clear tactic to avoid the last few games where they lost heavily (Stoke, Rotherham)
Even the Reading fans were complaining after the team selection and that first half display.

What exactly did Jeff Brown say wrong?, as for Reading’s display, I thought i would never see a more negative approach than Fleetwoods last season (think it was them) especially in the championship, but friggin hell that was embarrassing

not going to slag reading off, they are not the first and wont be the last...if you are on a really bad run the first thing is to stop conceding, stick a couple of experienced lads up front and hope a long ball or two sticks and maybe nick one.

as plenty have said all ince had to do was basically say that but he tried to pretend that was not the intention...even peter reid when he first came here lived by 'keep it tight at the back and we might just nick one' but he never tried to dress it up.

Nothing wrong with keeping things tight and admitting it ...

... Ince is so cringingly arrogant he just can't admit he's been reduced to playing such dreadful archaic football.

He's destroying his own chances of ever managing a decent lub.

Incidentally I was laughing yesterday wondering what we'd have thought, in the window, of signing a 6'4" ex-England striker who was once the most expensive British player ....

... yesterday he was absolutely f*ck*ng shyte <laugh>
