Thank goodness he is finally gone. Worst manager in PL history? He is certainly up there. By far the worst at saints that's for certain. Despite immense financial backing, a huge break to implement his ways and the easiest run of fixtures one could dream of he took us backwards to almost certain relegation. It has been obvious for months he is well out of his depth. Only surprise is that some people thought he was worth a keeping on and giving a chance. Absolute madness that anyone saw anything in this complete chancer.
If anyone with a Telegraph account could copy and paste this piece it would be ever so nice, thanks in advance:
I just finished reading that. Don’t have an account, wasn’t asked to sign in? Edit: also can’t seem to copy and paste on my phone. Essentially says while Brighton’s data choice did well, ours didn’t. And that data doesn’t show how people will work with other people or in different environments.
He’ll be fine at another L1 club looking to punch above their weight. Please don’t lose any sleep for him. He failed but will have a massive payoff.
How are we feeling about James Bree? I think HCDAJFU as a back up/utility player still but he'll always been seen as NJ's man.
Bree is decent, I really like the player. Capable player for me and will be our first choice RB I imagine if/when we go down.
I think he’ll be ok, probably be our back up in the Championship if Livramento returns (KWP is off). Even if Livramento leaves or continues to struggle with injury, Bree is proven at that level. On the face of it we could have an excellent Championship side with minimal change depending on who stays or leaves. We will definitely needs CMs though as JWP and Lavia will go.
This is a response which I find empathy with. Personally his family will not be in a good place today either, yes, I know, that's the price one pays, but as you rightly pointed out, this is a human problem which has been in full public view and that just makes it even tougher. I wish him well and sincerely hope that he can learn and use this experience to better prepare for, and deal with in the future. The Club meanwhile must obtain the services of an acknowledged manager who can walk onto the training ground and into the dressing room with authority and respect already in his bag. Tactically we've been short for years, (sorry Ralph, not your strength) and an event like this needs someone who can steady the ship and utilize the pretty good squad we've now got and ensure points are gained, not offered away as yesterday and many, many more games in the past. I still think we'll stay up on the above proviso.
Hi Chilcs, A problem I can solve for you forever: Just cut and paste any paywalled URL into the red box on https://archive.today/ and you'll see the page. (Note, in the unlikely event you're the first to post a particular page there, you'll be popped in a queue then you'll see it working in plain view as it decodes the page but it'll get there). Vin
Ahem. Genuinely struggle to see how anyone (especially Rasmus) was ever taken in by this bluffer. Getting chirpy back at his own fans after scraping a cup win at Palace a particular low point. Not only was he a useless manager, he also came across as a truly sh1t bloke. Good riddance and let us never speak of him again. That said, I do hope he was sacked with the greatest of respect.
Most managers are sacked because they get their contracts paid up in full. You should hope he quit then he wouldn't get a penny more out of the club
