I think it was just a bad game for Ebiowei to come into. No criticism for bringing him on as I think we all wanted to see him but it was such a scrappy affair.
It's always a scrappy game at stoke because the pitch is so narrow. A point away is decent. Take it, and go for all three at Norwich.
Don't recall Ingram having to make anything other than routine saves which confirms that Jones and McLoughlin were our two best players. Any point at Stoke is good given our record against them. At least we don't have to watch them every week!
Top 12 basically all play each other - Burnley v Watford, Sheff U v Boro, Blackburn v WBA, us v Norwich, and PNE v Luton. Means it's a good opportunity if we pick up 3 points, but also means if we don't we won't lose touch much as plenty of sides around us will also drop points.
We were crying out for Tetteh to be on the during the game. In his every appearance (which yes have not been many) he has been outstanding. Look fwd to seeing him on Tuesday at some point during the game.
Would think he'd start, it's not as if he's been missing with injury. Should be right to go, possibly for Slater in that advanced role.
Tufan did not seem to be struggling to me when he came off. In fact in the second half he was one of our bright spots.
Re Tufan not being able to play more than 70 mins. If you say something enough times then regardless of whether its true or not then it becomes fact! Tufan is the victim of that truism.
Strange, but true, I haven’t watched one for 30 years! Not proud for the fact. Hope it changes next season
I know some people on here are doubting Ebiowei's fitness and saying he is looking a bit rusty, but he has now played 84mins of 1st team football this season including today's game for City.
Great point. Didn't watch or listen (spent the second half doing the food shop, fully expecting to read about how we lost). I could be the only 'reasonably content' city supporter tonight. UTT
We signed a player in January to make an instant impact. He then got injured, and looked a mile off it today. It looks like we should've brought someone else in
Maybe, but can't ignore the fact Tufan's been a sub or subbed in about 2 thirds of the games he's appeared in.
Rosenior looked frustrated with Ingrams delivery, a few times players hands were thrown up in frustration as well when he just kicked through to their keeper or straight in touch. I agree is would be harsh to drop him but I don’t think Rosenior will fancy him long term so wouldn’t be surprised to see a switch.
I really felt at that time Slater had to square it earlier, perhaps play it to doch or Oscar, if he did there was more space for a composed effort rather than a snapshot. Having said that you would hope Connolly still hits the target but I think the chances of a save or a block where pretty high.
