Morning all - Grey and cloudy start to the day in West West London.

Did anyone see that programme "Greek For A Week" on Channel 4 last night? It was absolutely gob-smacking, I knew things looked out of control there, but never to that extent. Idea of the programme was to take a group of people in the UK and show them what their jobs would be like if they were Greek...
Started with a part-time hairdresser who was 54 and earned around £12k Pa - as she was 54 and worked in a "designated" occupation, she could retire on a pension of 90% of her salary..there are over 500 such "designated" occupations in Grreece including Bakers!. Next was a bus-driver in LooTown, he earned £20K pa, but in Greece, with a whole load of bonuses including turning uo for work, being married, a milk allowance of £75 per year, he would earn over £50k per year.
Then they went on to describe the transport system - they could have used Taxi's for every single person travelling by train in Greece and saved money...there are no ticket barriers, so no-one pays!
Then the tax system - in summary, no-one pays their full taxes and the rich and better off are the worse offenders. Example used were Consultant Surgeons, who would earn over £250K pa, only claiming and paying tax on £10K pa......a huge cash balck economy.

What is scarey though is Italy - years ago I used to be the Service Manager for Italy and Spain and even then there where some right iffy stuff going on. People were paid for 13 months, they had a A and B salary and only the A salary was taxed....

Morning All, Very mild here again, so it is still tee shirt weather. ;)

There were a lot of people last night getting warnings about malware on this site, but it seems to have been cleared up this morning. Exploit Blackhole Exploit Kit is a very well known nasty bit of work if you get infected. Keep your AV upto date seems to be the message.

I never received any warnings about the site and ran both malware and AV but nothing flagged.

Theo was getting the same warnings as I was Dan. I had a look to see if any other clubs were reporting it and there was plenty of comments that they had seen the warning too. I think it is maybe which AV system you use and what it looks for.

Cricket Box? Is that where the bat man stands when the other player throws the ball at him?

morning all...thanks for the caramel latte Ak.

I heard all about the problem yesterday but wasn't around at the time. I think it must have been solved but apparently it was a fairly nasty virus coming out of Russia!

I remember a Jasper Carrot set about Spoonerism, his Aunt calling him a 'Shining Wit' and it ended with a song called Bastity Chelt. Was very funny, although not a good as his Magic Roundabout sketch <laugh>. Look it up if you ever need a bit of a giggle.
