Another flying object shot down over Alaska. Military not saying what it is yet, but sounds like it might be another balloon. Smaller one, size of car rather than bus. Sounds like China is testing to see how small a balloon has to be before it's detected. Third balloon will probably be one the size of Trump. Then it will be one the size of a man.
nah, there's a limit here. they were dangling equipment out of it that had to be carried and the higher you go the bigger the balloon has to be. the smaller the less equipment. anyway it seems the balloon shot down was well under the supposed altitude it's normally operate at. 45,000 not 60,000. it seems going up and down finds the winds to make heading changes to get over where they are supposed to go. so really, make a smaller balloon and you've got to take off weight so what do they really think will be the outcome? oh America respects you more or America continues the run on moving companies out of there beofte escalating "the war to come"
I mean there is a bit of a hypocrisy here. Spy from space = legit. Spy from 60k feet = shoot it down. I do wonder what would happen if China shot down a US spy satellite because it was spying on them.... That said, I am all for shooting down spy balloons. Got to limit what people can get away with, and you know the Chinese would shoot down Western Spy Balloons too.
Don't want to let them down. I'll email the Chinese embassy and let them know it's really cold in Alaska right now. Not shorts and T-shirt weather there yet.
also don't forget that a balloon will expand as the altitude increased due to press outside decreasing. if the balloon is whatever a car size then it's a fair bet it's a standard weather balloon type payload and probably sent to just annoy

Holy crap... I guessed $30k for the missile. I googled it, it's actually between $400k to $600k depending what type of sidewinder missile was used. That's probably around $1mill spent to shoot down two balloons.

yeah but a few and it is a few as a mob compared to "our lot" aka thr entire city. as far as I heard it kicked off initially after accusations of someone approaching a schoolgirl but that's no excuse. it'll be the usual get in there and create mayhem.types coming in and causing trouble. I mean it's only about 5 years or so fine that far right group tried to come to the city for a march and got met by a much bigger counter protest that sent them packing. you can never tell who's done what in these cases as likely whoever threw the stuff likely deliberately dropped in and immediately scarpered to leave the usual.morons to face the music.
I'd like to know how much scrutiny has gone into establishing that? Of course that's not on if true. But there'll be kids in that hotel as well. If ppl care that much about children then it makes no sense to start chucking fire bombs around. Where's the common sense here. Anyway I'll leave it there. all these people.need is an excuse. stuff like that will shoot round like wildfire and get some form of mob and I'm sure some encouragement was gotten from protests in Ireland last week or some time. for all we know it happened or it was made up to give an excuse to kick off. irrespective, there's no excuse for fire bombing buildings is there?
the Echo reports that there was an element intent of violence at the planned protest (so were targeting trouble and police) the police van set in fire was fireworks and attacked with hammers. apparently it was all arranged and police were present for a protest and counter protest of the protest or whatever. there'll be an element present of far right imo.
