I would like to keep him as part of the squad, does any other player at the club generate the number of posts on this, forum as Catts does, I think not.
Catts has had a few cracking games for us, but on the whole his passing has been below the standard needed and he also tends to get caught in possession in crucial areas. On the plus side, you can never fault his efforts, although he never seems to be fit at the start of seasons..
Certainly not - we need a squad and Catts faults and all is a massive influence and leader within the club - now his head is right he will be very important team asset imo
Keep LC in the squad, because with JK and YM there, he's not going to get a game. He was playing as an attacking midfielder to cover but we have JR and JL for that position and also SA wants to bring somebody in there.. Maybe EZ or MA?
I wouldn't be bothered if he left. I wouldn't be bothered if he stayed. I would be bothered if he was still starting every game as that would suggest a lack of progress.
I think he might be the sort of player that does well as a coach. As he got older he always talked intelligently about the game, without the usual cliches. He was also much better player than he got credit for outside of the north east, he was technically good, positionally good and he was a leader. I think under the right head coach he could flourish and learn. Hope he isnt jumping straight in though, a first team assistant coach would be a great next step.
I've got a lot of time for Cattermole, he speaks well about the game. Hopefully he goes on to have a good career in management. People who don't pay attention think Cattermole is a hot head, a big drinker and a trouble maker. They judge based on his reputation but the reality is that he was a different player in style and temperament by his late 20's.
Lots of time for lee. Very clever kid when it comes to ball. Would be an asset definitely. Anyome who knows him understands his worth.
He was a leader. Remember that time at Norwich when we defended and he went round high fiving everyone. Love the bloke
Wasted his career through poor lifestyle choices. Knackered before his time because he could never recover properly. Suspect attitude. Got far too comfortable here, should never have been allowed the amount of influence he had. Nothing to show for his career other than a few quid. I wonder how satisfying that is looking back. That first six months he was with us, mind. Sensational.
I'd have him involved tbh. Towards the end of his career he seemed to be very switched on to the coaching and mentality side of things which was a far cry from the rash young lad getting booked every week.
