It now looks like the optimum time to replace Jesse Marsch was post Leicester/Fulham games. Getting it done before the WC break and the transfer window but hindsight as they say …. Things looking bleak at the moment but to be fair none of us know whats going on, who has been interviewed etc and we only read headlines from journalists with an agenda and from what I can gather Carlos Corberan had not been officially spoken to about the job so never refused it. His employer was already in talks with Carlos about his contract and the media stories made them get it done a week or two faster that’s all. Yes an official request may have gone in this week but would have been too late. Besides is Corberan experienced enough to keep Leeds in the prem? The other coach nobody from Leeds has spoken to Postacoglu is also getting a new contract to make sure we don’t go for him. Seems the big winners from Marsch getting the sack are 2 coaches from minor leagues?

Well are we worried that no new head coach has been appointed yet? I am. Tough to line someone up half way through the season and Andani Iraola would have been a great choice but in fairness to him he is honouring his contract that ends in June. Will we use an interim coach and hope he can keep us up before employing Iraola in the summer?

Right from the start I wanted the guy who wasn’t even on the bookies top 10, but in my view the best and only candidate that offered everything. Experience, great attacking football, classic defence, won everything in South America. Also an honourable man who decided he wanted a break so left his club in December and will decide on his next project. He is available but he may not fancy a relegation battle now, but maybe in the summer. Maybe the club should offer him a huge bonus if he keeps us up and some cash for new signings in the summer.

Gallardo, 47, joined River in 2014 and was manager for more than eight years, leaving at the end of the 2022 season. An incredible effort, clocking up 424 games in charge as boss – and winning a very impressive 14 trophies for River.
    Marcelo Gallardo
Top top Argentine player who played over 200 times for River plate over 3 stages, with PSG and Monaco just a couple his European clubs. Also represented Argentina 44 times as a dynamic AM. His coaching career has seen him transform Argentine coaching to such an extent that Pep calls him the best coach in the world.

    Uruguayan Premier League Champions 2011/12

    Argentine Premier League Champions 2021

    Argentine Cup 2015/16, 2016/17, 2018/19

    Pro League Trophy 2021

Copa De Libertadores (SA Champions League) 2015 and 2018

    South American Cup 2014

    Re Copa Sudamerican 2015, 2016 and 2019

    Suruga Bank Champions 2015

South American Coach of the Year 2018, 2019 and 2020

He has made River Plate into historical record breaking club and has a win ratio of 54% from 424 games and the season he coached Nacional in Uraguay his win ratio was 60%.
I note his name has now started to show up on the betting markets as 3rd favourite now behind Slot and Iraola. Go get him Victor and please don’t show up with Steve Bruce or Dean Smith

Pep didn't actually call him the best coach in the world, he said:

Back in 2019, Guardiola told Argentine television: “What Gallardo has done with River is incredible.

“Every year three coaches are named as the best in the world, and he’s never among them.

“I can’t understand it. It’s as if there’s nothing else in the world apart from Europe.”

Just saying I don't want him as Wakey told me he isn't the best in the world, he is a pub league manager ;)

I also thought Pep said Bielsa was the best in the world.

Gallardo is not coming he has already stated to this effect. He does not speak English and said he would have to learn it first.

If the stories are correct Pochetino, Iraola, Gallardo and Slot have all rejected Leeds, Corberan and the Celtic Greek have signed new contracts.

Please don’t jump into a dinosaur wait until the summer for one of the above

Seems to be getting a tad embarrassing for Radz but it happens every time he tweets lately. If he had said nothing everyone would just wait and see besides the speculation but he’s screwed it up again. A name mentioned weeks ago and has been on the bookies list is Kjetil Knutson from Norway side Bodo Glimt. Gets rave reviews because of the way his side play and do some great stuff in Europe, but would say he would be a proper clutching at straws candidate

Feyenoord press conference - Arne Slot has ruled himself out saying it was a great compliment to be in consideration but Feyenoord fans need not fear, he is not leaving

It's amused me that so many people think that our next manager should have PL experience. Bielsa didn't, & did ok. Many others elsewhere didn't have any either, but did ok. A longer list is failed managers that actually DID have 'relevant' league experience. Heck is the first that springs to mind on that list.

The latest is that Iraola wants Leeds but Leeds cannot buy out his £7m release clause, this has to come from Iraola personally and to the Spanish FA. Lots of legalese which means Leeds cannot walk up to Iraola and bung him a brown envelope with £7m in it to pay the FA. Seems Iraola is now fked off with Rayo and relations will get worse….. good news? Or bad news? Phil Hay apparently has mentioned something on his podcast?

If Iraola is the man then Leeds need to force the issue or going to look stupid by Monday, already looking idiotic

Michael Beale was the brains? He signed tyler Roberts for qpr and likened him to Bobby firmino.

If he was the brains, fck knows what that makes Gerard.

When we beat Man U 2-0 on Sunday everyone will be calling for the U21 guy to remain in charge <ok>

Or we could put Armas in charge next week and just go for repeat new manager bounces

Bloody hell, Twitter rules, that’s it, no room for thought nor reason, Twitter says so it must be true.

The real irony is, that makes this site/ forum pointless because if you come here for news but it’s only rehashed Twitter, you may as well just do Twitter, perish the thought.

Anyway all the facts you read about managers or players were interested in will have originated on Twitter somewhere. Filtered version is here
