Worrying thing Wakey is the board have had plenty of notice wed be needing a new coach soon. It's not as if Jesse walked out overnight. Most fans could see for months it wasn't working. The question is, are the board that blind or daft that they hadn't their suspicions. Ample time to sound out potential successor. But it is what it is, let's see who's willing to take the gig. Ive a funny feeling it's not just waiting for the right lad that's holding this up, its identifying also who wants the job. Might yet have to turn to the dole queue to find suitable client
We sacked Jesse and didn’t have a replacement in place, that’s screwed up. Gallardo said no, he is having a break and needs to learn English to connect with the players. Iraolas club have come out and said no, you can’t have permission to speak to him Raul reportedly turned us down, no evidence other than reports but none to say that’s a lie either Radz said white smoke on Tuesday night, possibly early morning when asked if we had someone, 24 hours later he changed it to we need more time. Mate, it’s not rocket science that we’ve been turned down by at least one who we thought we’d have in in time for last Wednesday. We’re on the same page though that I’m happy for them to take their time and get the right coach rather than snap up another Jesse but you’d know that if you read my other posts. The board screwed up like it or not, now let’s hope they make the best of it and don’t rush forward and panic with the wrong appointment
I can’t name someone, the board should have done their job better once they sacked JM. I think where we differ is you think the two we have now are a safe pair of hands whereas I think they take us down. I hope you’re proved right.
Maybe, I can’t comment as I only saw the highlights but we still gave up a lot of chances and let in our obligatory two goals.
Except Jesse wasn’t a snap, panicked decision. We apparently tracked him for a long time as the man to replace Bielsa, so no certainty with this board that a drawn out process means the next coach will be a roaring success.
Hindsight is great I know but after the first season in the PL we should really have found ourselves the guy to take us on to the next level, we would have attracted so much interest but it wasn't to be. Then again, it would have been a brave decision and seemed very foolish at the time to not renew Bielsas contract, who knows
