I think this is a must win game now, what would be your 11? For me it would be... Walton Clarke Wolfy Burgess Leigh Morsy Humphreys Jackass Chaplin Broadhead Ladapo I have been more impressed with Jackass as a winger, he is useless as a striker and for me, Burns just ain't been on it lately!! Yes i have dropped Leif and put Leigh in, i just think Leigh is more powerful and is better suited to this game. As for Ladapo, it was a 50/50 him or Hirst, Hirst will have something to prove but Ladapo has been scoring lately. Maybe give them a half each and tell them both to run themselves into the ground for 45 mins! My prediction is.....3-1 Town!!
I would have Edmundsen for Burgess, otherwise broad agreement SD. Jackson deserves to start, and Burns either injured or not at his best. Hirst to come on and score of course! Aluko also does a cameo appearance & produces another class act and spins the game out to a roaring, hysterical crowd. 2-1 home win, must win, our season ignites!
A game I'd love us to win in order to get things back on track,but......I think it'll be a 2-2 draw with another gutting late goal conceded. COYB!!!
Not a lot wrong with your selection,Spanish. I probably slightly favour Davis over Leigh but he seems to be the man in possession of LB slot at present.Jackson also seems to have done enough to get the nod over Burns, which is an incredible turn of events.I'm hoping we can get back to the stage where KMc's substitutions have a bigger impact.
We all know that if we play at our best, we will give them a helluva game. Subs and last quarter will as it often does, be our defining moments. I will be spellbound with my mates in Amsterdam.
Wandering over to Wednesday forums, they all comment on a settled 1st team, one that selects itself. Just saying, when did we last know our best eleven or am I barking up wrong tree?
Nope it’s a massive weakness. Frankly, team selections of late are ridiculous, especially bringing in Keogh.
McKenna has never consistently picked those frontline players apart from Burns, I'd say he doesn't make his selection based on form either
This is the problem. He’s in his thirties, so conceivably it’s based on who he’s best buddies with. I can’t see what else it can be based on.
I wouldn't say that, I'd say he picks the team based on the attributes he thinks will best work against the opponent. He also bases it on the fact he wants his forward players to press and that probably around the 70th minute he will replace all of them whatever the score. I think he over thinks sometimes, needs to be playing players who are in form. I can't see how you can look past Ladapo and Chaplin in those forward positions currently given their form the other position is up for grabs. I remember Chaplin had a brilliant run of scoring then he was dropped and same with Ladapo. When Ahadme came to the club he was on a good run of form and Ladapo couldn't hit a barn door but he continued to persist, although you could argue he kept a bit of faith in him. But it is a challenge for players if they know it doesn't matter how they play 1 game they might not get picked another.
I agree this is a weakness and unsettling for players. Maybe a sign of youth & inexperience. Hopefully he is learning quick! He is still a good manager and well respected, but we need a string of exciting wins now, beginning tomorrow.
Just looking at some of the Plymouth reviews of their game against the owls last week, seems they were possibly kicked all over the park .
The Big day dawns, I am excited as I always am on Matchday. But a bit nervous too, after all Wednesday with 5 wins in a row and Town 1 win in 5, if I was a betting man.... Lets go after them and get that early goal!
I'm gonna pass on a prediction as I haven't a scooby what the score will be. Hopefully we can pull a win out of the bag to reignite our faltering season. Oh what the hell....1 nil defeat
