I still laugh now thinking about Dean Windass warming up in front of Rory Delap, trying to take one of his long throws, to put him off. Classic.
Idle, plain idle. Just after WWII some delinquent teenagers in London adopted fashion from the Edwardian era, they were known as Cosh Boys or Edwardians. In 1953 the Daily Express coined the phrase Teddy Boys, or the shortened term of Teds. Thus at one time Shepherds Bush had more Teds than the whole of Portugal. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
In the 1966 General Election one SJ Lomas garnered a respectable 2262 votes on behalf of the Communist Party of Great Britain, to finish in third place behind Labour and the Tories, but infront of the Liberal Party, in the Parliamentary Constituency of Stoke On Trent South. Thus at one time Stoke had more Reds than the whole of Portugal.
There's more solid sheds in stoke than in Portugal. No good for putting your mower in, because they're solid. https://www.solidsheds.com/sheds-stoke-on-trent/
They used to be an incredibly angry club, around 2007-2009 time. That time Barmby scored late on to deny them a playoff spot (and ultimately help us stay up) they absolutely lost the plot and a load of City fans ended up penned in behind a fence having bottles thrown at them.
Indeed they have - you spotted my deliberate error, well done; or, alternatively on 11v11.com I had typed Stoke City before Hull City and was reading the Stoke wins as ours. Schoolboy error
Tough one to call this one, Stoke are either very good or just the opposite. Thanks to Acun nearly 2500 going from our side it brilliant, and will certainly help. Hoping for another good away performance, in Liam we trust. Can't see Tufan playing, listening to his interview with RH, he is really affected by this terrible disaster as you would expect.
Is Tetteh available for this one? I think he has served his 3 match ban. Maybe I'm wrong we have only had 2 league games since Sheffield.
When Boaz Myhill kicked it out for a corner. That's the only time I've seen a team prefer to concede a corner, rather than face a throw-in. That said the pitch was very narrow....Tony Pulis had it sussed.
The carpark was like a warzone after the game as well. I remember a car of City fans in colours getting attacked by a big group. They opened the passenger side door and tried dragging a kid out, but his seat belt prevented it, then miraculously the traffic cleared and they drove off with the door open and him hanging half way out.
Can't remember Paul Hunter scoring many goals for us, but I think he once got the winner v Stoke on the 1st day of the season at BP. They were all over us, missed an open goal and Hunter scored with our only chance of the game with about 5 minutes to go. Can't remember what season either. Anyway, I fancy a 2-0 win tomorrow with Conolly getting on the scoresheet
A win tomorrow would be huge, a true statement of pure intent as a club. They are in poor form, we seem to be hunting the top 6. Should win 2-0. With that said, 1-0 defeat, typical city...
