Have I heard this right, that the initial punishment for City may take TWO YEARS to decide, then a lengthy appeal could double that?! Jesus Christ.

If they're thrown out their domestic leagues it will collapse again. It can't replace the domestic leagues as fans can't afford to travel the globe every fortnight.

They wouldn't be thrown out because they needed them in their domestic leagues... the big 6 clubs would have no issues selling tickets because world wide they have an absolutely colossal fanbase mate.

I'd love them thrown out but sadly that's not going to happen.

Like I said nothing will happen expect some sensationalised media coverage and over time it'll be almost forgotten.

It's nothing but well timed noise.

I don’t get the uproar around europe about English clubs being so rich.

So what happens… English clubs pay silly money to other European clubs for their players. Mess European clubs get nice bit of cash and can then go get a player who is newrly as good elsewhere for 10th of the price to then sell them on in a few years time.

If I was a fan of a mid table Italian team why would I care what teams in England are doing? Worse case it means that they win everything in Europe but that doesn’t even happen now.

As I said, the answer is better management of these clubs. It just seems to me that the owners of these problematic clubs would rather not adopt a sustainable model, which makes no sense to me whatsoever. It makes even less sense when you consider how their authorities also just allow it.

Barca should not have been allowed to offer money they don't have for players they can't afford. There's a negligence on the continent that makes the likes of Serie A and La Liga look like they're in the developing world. I can't work out why more isn't said about the gross mis-management, we're all focused on the ESL argument and what that means rather than taking one step back and looking at why it keeps coming up, then explore the reasons why Barca, Real and Juve feel it so necessary to live way beyond their present means?

I mean, the economics of it run deeper - their gross negligence has an impact on the rest of the league, which creates a dichotomy within those leagues that make them unattractive to global viewers. Our league is desirable mainly because you look at the top 6 and it's got Brighton in it, Fulham and Brentford in the top 10. It's the history, the surprises, that helps it be so appealing. Sky have it wrong when they have often lauded the self-styled "big 6"; they need to dispense of that bullshit, the balance is shifting.

And clubs like those mentioned are doing well, getting loads of plaudits, because they are run in a sustainable, sensible way. These Euro morons seem to think it's all about repeating the Galacticos era, which is impossible when fees and wages have sky-rocketed out of control. Honestly, the stupidity is incredible.

I actually think the super league would work for the clubs involved and commercially all over the world.

The majority of fans are abroad watching TV channels and they'll love the new product as will the next generation of fans because they won't know anything different.

This idea nobody will watch it or like it I think is short sighted because the marketing and the glamour around the product will be a new level, so it'll sell.

It's inevitable somewhere down the line.

The Italian league doesn't sell abroad, neither does the French or German and the only matches watched from the Spanish league that are watched (mainly in South America is Barca and Real Madrid).

They bring **** all to the table other than a chip on their shoulder.

They'll have games in America, China the lot mate it'll be well marketed and open up new opportunities for commercial deals.

I would envisage f1 type crap, but it'll sell to the foreign fan .

I don't want it, but I don't buy into this notion it'll not sell and be boring. This notion is simply people not liking the concept and concluding it therfore wouldnt work..

I think more information needs to come out before making a judgement. If they're talking 80 teams then it needs to be done by divisions in which case it suggests it would replace CL/Europa/Conference....

    Just don't see it happening...

If it was to take off I'd suspect BeIN would be one of the major broadcasters behind it (For MENA region at very least) and saying as PIF now own a large stake in them now I can't see how we wouldn't be invited in.

I just can't see how they can threaten to break away from FIFA and UEFA without leaving their domestic divisions. No way will the PL teams leave that guaranteed income. Not happening.

Its just piss and wind again.
