sad day. bacharach's stuff is up there with the music gods. his ability to create musical magic was beyond 99.9999999%. he teamed up with some great lyric writers, not least hal david, who died just over 10 years ago and probably provided the lyrics for the best of bacharach's compositions. hate to be picky, but downtown was tony hatch. definitely a classic.
if it's any help, i often think 'you're no good' was a bacharach-david one, and i've been reminded on here that it wasn't.
