Agreed, and I've said so a few times. CL is the most successful forum, and they have a rule that you don't post about other forums, which seems sensible.
I've locked this thread now. I think on balance it is probably for the best. It will gradually drop off the first page of threads as time passes. Any further discussions about this can take place via private messages if people wish.
I've been thinking about my decision a few days ago to lock this thread. It's true that on CL (by far the largest Charlton Athletic fans' forum) they have a rule about not discussing other forums. And for them such a rule is helpful. But we're a rather different set-up here. Indeed I don't think you could get a Charlton fans' forum that's more different from CL if you tried (and some have!). There's only a handful of us here, and there is always a lot of stuff going on involving the other Charlton forums - some of it quite interesting. I know it's my responsibility at present to look after this particular branch of not606, but I don't want to start telling other members and fellow fans what they can or can't talk about. As long as everyone abides by common standards of decency and posts in good faith, any subject should be OK for debate in my view. In that spirit I've unlocked this thread again. Please treat fellow Charlton fans based on other forums with the same courtesy and respect that we've always shown in the past By the way - I'd rather not hear about anything being posted elsewhere about me specifically. If there's anything that somebody feels I really should know, could you send me a private message? Thanks
I acknowledge that opinion is divided on this, but usually when there are two valid viewpoints I'll incline towards choice rather than control.

I don't think I have been treated with any courtesy and respect. My name has been rubbished on this forum. All because I objected to Lardiman's comments on a football forum about the Holocaust. I still object to them. No contrition has been shown, no apology.
Objecting to my comments is one thing. And I accept that my argument could be seen as out of proportion. I used a sledgehammer to crack a nut (the way reams has been demonising TS and wishing harm upon him). I still maintain the principle is the same. Paint one person (or a whole section of society) as evil or greedy or immoral, in order to whip up hatred against them and increase the likelihood of violence. But I wasn't accused of losing a sense of proportion. You @Dick Plumb1 joined IA in denouncing me and you branded me an Anti-Semite. That goes way beyond saying I made a disproportionate argument. I can understand IA denouncing me, because he hates me and has done for years. But I was very surprised to see you go even further than he did. I know you hold me (wrongly) responsible for the shutting down of your forum. But allegations of racist bigotry should never be lightly thrown around. However, it's finished now. I'm cancelled and character assassinated on ITTV and I could never go back there again even if I ever wanted to. My name has been destroyed there, and that can never be undone. And I'll never forget who did it.

I saw Lardi's post, and it was taken completely out of context, and the way the ITTV brigade (led by you) all turned on him like a pack of rabid dogs was nothing short of bullying. I was very dissapointed with YOUR actions Dickplum1 - I thought you was better than that. You even have the cheek to pop back on here to try and continue the attack on Lardi
Obviously my earlier reference to courtesy and respect on this thread was a joke, a light hearted pop (hence the smilies). I know some posters on ITTV get the rise taken out of them in this thread. Plenty of rib-tickling repartee was launched from here by the Sheriff before he left not606. And some of us get stick back from over there (often from the same Sheriff) even if there is no specific thread for it. The Sheriff was the one making endless claims about @Dick Plumb1 trying to poach members for his new forum. Even his current forum name is from a post about a year ago, claiming Dick and myself were "working like ants" to undermine ITTV with the Charlton Chat forum. That's all fair enough. We can all give and take a bit of leg pulling and silly name-calling. But that wasn't what happened last week.
I was briefly on ITTV, But when IA decided to call me a liar after I referred to a match I attended in the 1970's I thought I don't need this. He doesn't hate you personally, Lardy, he's just a total cvnt.
