Looks like they are trying to resurrect the plans with a more 'inclusive' approach. I am sure that Juventus, Barca and Real Madrid would make sure they are included every year..

"Reichart says the new ESL would contain up to 80 teams, each guaranteed a minimum of 14 matches per season and continue to play in their domestic leagues."

80 teams? Wow. How will this work as a Super League? Is it just a new format to replace current CL /Europa, or as well as?

The proof will be when their actual proposals are shown. The objections everyone had were down to automatic places for some teams. Having said that the likes of Barca and Real almost have that anyway.

Excuse me for asking a stupid question, but can anyone explain what the **** this means:

Who the **** is this ****?

EDIT: Turns out he's a media/TV corporate rat. But, sure, let's make him the authority on European football. Who allows these ****ing clowns the oxygen?

In a weird way if it happens and there's a way in Newcastle can just bulldoze it because ffp will go out the window.

Yeah, he's just a media promoter looking to capitalise on the new proposals from A22. Stir up the mindset for the need to change and then benefit from the promoting the new scheme.

Perhaps now people understand why the Premier league can't get hardball with Man City.

Are you serious? This is some corporate nobody, who needs 80+ clubs to sign up to constant Euro travel, with zero commercial guarantee, on top of domestic schedules.

This is 3 debt-ridden clubs run by the richest morons you’ll ever find repeatedly lobbying for something that only serves their own interests. Juve, Barca and Real all need to die and be reborn. Football needs to rid itself of this cancer. Juve in yet another world of financial bother, Barca and Real £2bn in debt; just leave them to it. Football needs to take a stand. Let them ****ing burn.

They need prem clubs... there's 2 big 6 clubs maybe 3 not going to qualify for the champions league and man City being bullied...

The only reason it never happened was because man City and Chelsea pulled out and the others folded. It wasn't for the love of the fans. Those two clubs just were the least concerned.

Chelsea is now American owned in 10th and man City are now being threatened.

I'll rest my case there until it happens in the future.

Called it only 24 hrs ago BTW.

Not sure what “it” is but everyone and their dog knew that there would be renewed attempts at setting up an ESL. Not exactly rocket science.

They didn't in some cases they think it just went away. They also don't seem to understand the Premier league can't get hardball with City.... that's the 'it'

    It's all a feeble threat.

    I think out the box ... .. we'll see won't we

80% of all money spent in Europe is spent in England now.

No wonder the Germans are chatting about this as the Bundesliga has essentially became nothing more than a feeder League for England

Do FIFA/Uefa/The FA have any reason to let these teams go and run their own competition while remaining in their sanctioned competitions - I doubt it.

"A22 has challenged UEFA and FIFA's right to block the formation of the European Super League and sanction the competing clubs in the courts, arguing the governing bodies are abusing a dominant position under EU competition law

The European Court of Justice (ECJ) is due to give its final ruling in the case later this year, but a non-binding opinion delivered by the Advocate General in the case in December said rules allowing UEFA and FIFA to block the formation of new competitions was compatible with EU law.

Although it is not guaranteed, the ECJ usually follows the view of the Advocate General."

When it comes down to it as long as they say - you can't enter the domestic and international competitions if you want to go and play euroball together - so no EPL money, no CL money and no chance of a World Cup for the players, no ones going to go are they? Unless FIFA sanction it as a FIFA competition, they don't need to allow access to the Euro competitions that UEFA or the national FA ran ones currently I'd guess and that means almost by defacto this can't and wont happen.

Disagree to a certain extent. Yes English clubs are spending the most but doesn’t mean that those clubs are better. Hence we’d be winning all European cups every season and that doesn’t happen

Honestly the stupidity of the rich never ceases to amaze. These are people with wealth most of us can only dream about yet they have little to no grasp on reality or facts.
