As simple as it sounds: Newcastle despots V Man utd for the league cup likely means the conference league spot goes to 7th. The FA cup is not yet clear but we still have 3 of the likely europes spot teams in there. the complication is who might win a european trophy this year..... ahem But until then the basis is the following: 5th - europa league FA cup winners or passed down to 6th - Europa league (assume city will buy the FA cup) League cup or pass down to 7th - Conference league
My choices are based on my top 4 prediction. I think spurs 5th as they will be spursy in the end and newcastle will grind 1 game a week. Their defence is absolutely pathetic at times. I think cheslea will take 6th. just a feeling that they will eventually get something together I think Brighton look good right now but defensively they are not that good. 7th. LFC 8th at best from here.
A lot of this depends on who you think will get top 4. I'm still waiting for a turnaround in our season. We won't get to four, but I still think enough time for top 7.
they are. Its bloody obvious. do you seriously think any one of those are going to be caught by Newcastle (low scoring, no goals conceded, 4 draws in a row) or spurs (can't defend) Arsenal are on 50 points. 20 point to go City are on 45. Again 25 points. 8 wins, 1 draw utd on 42.... only spurs can catch any of them and we all know what spurs are like.
I think we will finish 4th. Everyone else - not bothered. Suppose Newcastle won't get relegated which is a shame.
Think the answer is 1. Positions 1 to 4 Champions League 2. Position 5 Europa League 3. FA Cup Winner Europa League 4. League Cup Winner Europa Conference League 5. The sixth and seventh-placed teams can also qualify, depending on the winners and runners-up of the two domestic competitions (FA Cup and League Cup); if the winner of the FA Cup qualifies for the Champions League, then that place will go to the runner-up, and if the runner-up is also already qualified, then that place will go to the next-best placed finisher in the Premier League. If the winner of the League Cup has already qualified, that place goes to the next-best placed team in the league. Hope this helps.
