Then that's fair enough but it wasn't your comment I was originally posting about anyhow. And I agree about the "United" thing, alone it doesn't mean any one club and needs to be combined with it's city name counterpart.

I'm not UIR though am I? And for the record, so did Scun.thorpe United (the dot is to stop the forum censoring the name), Torquay United and West Ham United exist before Manchester United, in that order (after Sheffield United and Newcastle United of course).

 

Most other Uniteds are from 1 club cities. They are far more commonly referred to as their city name.

If you say united to someone 99% of the time they will assume you mean Manchester United.

if you disagree, fine, try talking to more people. **** sake, even Leeds fans call me a United fan and i live in ****ing leeds.

 

Then they are primitive savages. Just for the sake of putting people in their place, whenever United is mentioned I get mock confused and assume they are talking about Leeds. I don't like the referral to Leeds as "United" any more, but it still ****s me off when your fans go on.

Ive never ever heard a leeds fan refer to leeds as United. Its always Leeds. Same with every other United. Only Man utd refer to themselves as United from what i have heard.

The reason for that is because so many of your fans do it. Google is intelligent and over time works out what you're looking for if you type something in. After years of people putting "United" in and clicking on links related to man u, that is what it thinks "united" means. It's a result of none other than your own arrogant fans.
