Saints FC76 I think there will be a fire sale in the summer. Not sure how they can continue if we get relegated and they have lost the fan base. SEason ticket sales will tank, especially if Jones is still at the helm. Just see a Championship Southampton being of no interest to SR (especially as it dents their portfolio) but, by the same token, appealing to another buyer who would be keen to rebuold the bridges with the fans.
God, that is scathing. Sometimes you go, he's a prick but he's our prick but I just can't get there with him.
Overly pessimistic IMO Ian. They are looking at building a collective of clubs with an EPL club as the flagship. Their best chance will be getting Saints back up and it will be eminently do-able.
Saints were their first club they bought Ian. They're not going to just discard us like rubbish. I don't see a fire sale either.
And selling a club isn't as easy as selling a second hand car. I don't get the "SR will walk away" crap. Bit like saying I hate my house I'll just hand the keys to the mortgage company and walk away. They not invest more, but they do have millions tied up in the club that they won't just walk away from.
He will only go at the end of next season IF he fails to get us back into the PL . Do I want it to go that way ? Honest answer =. NO . Do I think it will go that way? Honest answer = Yes .
The prick is here to stay isn't he. Cheers Ted talk, you ****ing poncey twat. I'm sure the atmosphere at St Mary’s now will really lend itself to a relegation fight. Remember all the "football without fans" bollocks during covid? They don't give a **** do they?
They have parachute payments and +£100m in the bank from sales. Why would they walk away? Relegation was always a possibility as they establish themselves
When he wasn`t sporting a natty waistcoat/tartan tie outfit, Ralph used to appear on the touchline wearing Saints badged apparel, like he was a fan - Jones doesn`t seem to. Why`s that ?
He doesn’t really like us. We haven’t warmed to him and he doesn’t have any connection with saints. It’s just a bad fit.
I thought his wife`s family were Saints fans? It seems like he`s separating himself, like when he refers to Saints as `they`.
Listening now. Well done Saints fans, certainly didn't let them off the hook lightly. Some people were very tenacious.
Wow. I don’t think I could get more annoyed or depressed at the club/Ankersen. And then we had the forum.
If it wasn't for the fact that the Wolves game was utterly enormous for us (I really can't see how we stay up if we lose), I'd weirdly be alright with him taking charge of one more game - just to see what, if anything, he does differently now that he's going to "do it his way". Purely just out of interest. And then he could leave straight after. But the importance of the match far, far outweighs my slight intrigue.
Thanks for keeping us informed with the contents of the fan forum chaps, much obliged. Shame it's mostly **** news though.
