Don’t really like Sutton but he’s got that spot on. Lose canon and not in control were the bits that stood out to me.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing a Nathan Jones team for the first time this weekend.

Ohh so you're masochist then o_O

If the players do what Jones wants I assume seeing a Nathan Jones team will be very much like the Forest game which many believe is our worst performance in memory. That said we do have Tall Paul now so at least the CBs hoofing it up the park 78 times should be slightly more effective than trying the same with Che 5'8 Adams.

I’m going to miss the Wolves game. Relieved and gutted in equal measure.

You know what. I’ve got to the point I’m just sad now. It’s such a brilliant opportunity to create something exciting, and Ankersen has pissed it right up the wall. Worse, he refuses to try and rescue it. So depressing.

I'm going to the game. I'm actually dreading it less because the awful football is expected and as sad as it is to go to a Saints game and the football not be the focus, it's really not going to be. I have a feeling that with the fans being galvinised against Jones/Ankerson that might actually lead to there being more support for the team too. We'll see I guess. The main confusing thing for me is what happens with the result and Jones job security. We need to win. We are running out of games to win and we are playing a team close to us in the table. If we can somehow win and the crowds vitriol towards Jones can lead to Jones getting the sack anyway then thats the ideal scenario in my eyes. But if us winning is the only thing required for Ankersons ego to be massaged resulting in another 6 games of Jonesball, then we're double ****ed. I suppose the other ideal scenario is that we win and Ankerson was right all along and everybody else is wrong and Jones completes the ultimate turnaround and we just keep on winning...<wizard>

Really enjoyed listening to that and actually warmed to Chris Sutton, not just because of his accurate demolition of Napoleon but also for his sense of humour.

Indeed. I just don’t see anyway back for NJ, so why prolong the agony. If there is a genuine split re players training that just compounds it further. Maybe it is to do with new signings, as in a game or two with them. Don’t know.

The ideal scenario is that we win on Saturday and he is still sacked, which seems impossible to happen.

What could happen is we win Saturday and then lose the following game to Chelsea and he gets sacked which again would be pretty ideal as we are highly unlikely to get anything from Chelsea away regardless of manager.

If we lose or draw Saturday then he is gone I would suspect. But that is possibly our 2nd most winnable game on paper left and not winning it would be very bad

Agreed, they are our players and they have been bamboozled for over a year with confusing tactics and players out of position. Experienced players out and replaced with youngsters.

It was an experiment that clearly hasn't worked out this far, maybe we will take 1 step back and 2 steps forward, we shall see. Maybe this is what we need as we seem to have run out of steam since the Puel days.

We have seen flashes of brilliance under Ralph and for a while it looked like it could be the reboot we needed but ultimately it didn't work out.

Jones is another experiment that is not working but to be honest survival every season is not enough, it's kinda pointless. If we do go down then it's a chance for a proper reboot and come back up stronger and actually compete again in the top half!

Anyway let's just get behind the players no matter what,. That could really lift them!!

Could not agree more. Not sure if I'm going on Saturday, not because of the performance problems but I just don't want to be next or near to moronic insults and other stuff being a constant noise for 90+ minutes. If NJ is, as looks likely, still our manager then, to be honest, he's a stronger person than the mindless chanters on the terraces. He has not made the job easier, I fully agree with recent statements etc, but to face 30000 people, on your own deserves some respect. SR may decide other options over the days ahead and I think they will have to, but I cannot be part of ugly and totally distasteful treatment which, I fear, some on Saturday are fully intending to meet out.
As a footnote, if we go down, we'll probably get a better idea the number of true supporters.

I will be there on Saturday and I expect many around me to be moaning and groaning. That happens every game in the Northam/Kingsland corner!

I'm not personally one for booing the team as I don't see how that helps. If things are bad, I'm normally just fairly mute and miserable.

This past year I've mostly agreed with myself that Saints will not ruin my day.

I'm sure there are some that still go just because it's PL and to see other teams but the vast majority that turn up week after week are true supporters. It's been a very very rare thing to see a win over the last few years, and almost just as rare to see a goal...scored by Saints...in the oppositions net. Saints fans are anything but glory supporters and just because you disagree with the booing of Jones, doesn't mean those that do it aren't true supporters. They are doing it because they love the club and feel the only way to save us is to get Jones out.

I'm also not sure how much respect Jones deserves for turning up and doing the job that he is very handsomly paid to do. If he didn't turn up, he'd get the sack and presumably wouldn't be paid off. Not to mention a big part of the vitriol he will face are due to his comments. People are not happy with the way we are playing or the results, but whats really galvanised the supporters against him are his comments. So it's pretty self inflicted. Sorry but he gets no respect from me for that.
