We all know nowt will happen, it will all go quiet then in about a years time it'll be "charges dropped".
It really won't be and can't be. The fact the PL have done this to one of their "helpers" shows how serious this is. It's way more severe than what Juve have been done for.
Nah, Juve's was for accountancy fraud. City have been done for the same on loads of occasions, paying transfer fee's for under age players including kids, making companies up out of thin air for false sponsorship and paying other companies their own advertising and sponsorship money. In addition to hiding player and manager's true salaries on hidden "consultancy contracts", They are then getting done for the last 4 years for failing to provide documents or assist in an investigation. The 1 thing that may save their arses is the fact it was a hacker who found loads of their internal e-mails to release the information to the public.
Am I alone in thinking the PL are the biggest ****ing idiots in all this? I mean, everybody knows what they were doing - why didn’t the PL stop it sooner? It’s like Chelsea now, or the loan system, it’s rancid and wrong but they just wont act. Bizarre state of affairs.
We know why.........City will have too much dirt on them that they won't want to risk spilling out into public domain.
Precedent set: In his first season, Swindon were Second Division play-off winners, but the club later admitted 36 charges of breaching league rules, 35 due to illegal payments made to players, and were relegated to the Third Division — giving Sunderland promotion to the First Division and Tranmere Rovers to the Second Division.
Yeah that's just it...... It's PL and they will have no authority to do anything other than relegate them. Would be up to football league to do decide which division. I'd say this is worse than what Rangers got relegated for. This could literally be PL Vs City with only one surviving.
If it’s fully true and fully upheld then I get the feeling relegated to national league is on the cards
Nah this is the point - fire the shots, so it won’t happen again. Chelsea will be ****ing ****ting themselves.
Need to look at Leicester too I think. Loans from the owner then just written off. Isn’t that the same as the owner just spending his own money?
It will surely impact the quality of player they can attract now even if we don't hear anything for a while, who would want to join a club with potential demotion on the cards?
Hence the reason why Chelsea of spent the next 4 years transfer cash in one window. They have been given the heads up that things are about to change.
I agree. And it has bigger implications in Europe aswell. Clubs could rally against them (European) to block entry to competitions due to their fraudulent activity.
