It was a great - and accurate - decision by the referee.

And to be quite honest I don't think Stewart playing yesterday would really have made that much difference, I know he hold the ball up well his movement is great and he brings other players in to the game but the way they play just cancelled out everything we tried to do, Stewart benefits from the way we play as well and they stopped us from doing that all over the park, we couldn't string 3 passes together but that was down to them committing sneaky little fouls every 2 minutes just to break play up.
I think with the free flowing, passing game we play it will have a positive outcome 90% of the time, however there will be times when it just doesn't work against teams like this that don't try to play football.
I honestly believe that is how it took us so long to get out of league one, but we can't change our style just because we are playing a bunch of thugs, I know TM may have changed tactics slightly but you can't change your whole style for one game.
At the end of the day it's a learning curve for these young lads and I think they did us proud and fought hard for an away point

That's a deliberate punch at the player, no intention to play the ball it was a boxers classic uppercut. An attempt to punch the ball away would be a straight arm level from the shoulder.

He'd have been favourite to get the ball if he'd gone for it <laugh>

That's a shocking picture if the EFL see it , we will probably get charged with bringing the game into disrepute., no wonder we see thugs roaming the streets when nothing is done about teams and actions like this.

Agree with the punch, doesn't look like it's that accidental. I'd like to think it was but hard to looking at the still image.

Also, looks like he's looking to the player and not the ball.

This has little to do with football , its criminal behaviour, and as such should be stopped, where are the Police ?.

I think we have to be careful looking at stills. They often mislead. He could have gone with the punch anticipating the ball, missed it and the follow through, although unintended, second later, looks bad.

But his hand is moving upwards at the point of that still in an “uppercut” motion. Had he extended his arm fully above his head and attacked the ball, his arm physically could not be in the position it is. Unless it’s possible to extend your arms fully outwards and upwards, the retract it to that position and extend it upwards again.

I can’t see how he’s done anything other than punch the man there. No way, had he gone for the ball, can his arm be where it is

Can't argue with what you say marra. I'm just finding it difficult to believe he went for Cirkin instead of the ball.

Just watched the 90 minutes highlights and two things stood out for me.
    1. Their keeper never once played out from the back, he launched it long every time.
    2. How do two decent footballers in Honeyman and Watmore end up playing for a club whose only aim is to launch it long, foul the opposition at every given opportunity and fall over and try and cheat and con the Ref, especially when inside the penalty area.
Thought the Ref had a decent game albeit he was far too lenient with Millwall.
We did well to get a point from that game.
