Good Morning. It's Monday 6th February, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

Leeds on collision course to the Championship after latest loss

Nottingham Forest moved six points clear of Leeds, after holding on to a narrow lead for almost 80 minutes at a packed out City Ground yesterday. Their latest loss, saw Leeds plummet to 17th, with only goal difference separating them from the drop zone. It was a game they had, and expected to win, but Steve Cooper, and his team had other ideas.

The Whites dominated early doors, and went behind against the run of play, after Struijk needlessly bought down Brennan in a dangerous position. Bamford missed his defensive header as the ball somehow managed to evade a packed out penalty area, before falling nicely to Brennan Johnson, unmarked, on the edge of the area. His first time effort flew past the despairing dive of Illan Meslier at his near post.

Leeds continued to boss proceeding, but were denied by a mixture of poor finishing's and fine goal keeping from Keylor Navas, (making his debut for the tricky trees). As the clock ticked by, Leeds became more and more desperate, and it showed. The lost their shape, composure and discipline. They threw on Rutter and McKennie to no effect. The writing was on the wall, and if we're honest with ourselves, the final whistle came as a relief to many.

    Brave or reckless

In an extraordinary interview with Beren Cross, Leeds supremo Yank Lampar..., I mean Jesse Marsch admitted, he recently turned down the chance to sign footballing icon James Milner, citing he didn't want to take the easy route to navigate the troubled waters of the relegation zone. He even bragged about resisting chances to bring 30 year old Premier League stars to the club, as it goes against their philosophy. The American further boasted he thought they were brave for not taking the easy route.

Whilst building a squad for the future is commendable, a fine blend of youth and experience would go a long way at Elland Road at the moment. They haven't won in the league since Guy Fawkes night last year, and look devoid of ideas. At 37 (last month), Milner's best days may be behind him, but his experience and calming influence could have helped Leeds navigate the troubled waters of the relegation zone, especially if they needed to protect a lead for the last twenty minutes of a game.

Marsch needs to know when to keep his mouth shut. Only goal difference separates the Whites from the drop zone. He seems to be on a complete different page than the rest of us. What he describes as brave, many of us would call reckless.

“We've built this with young players," “We haven't gone out one time and gotten an experienced, 30-year-old Premier League player because a lot of what we're trying to do is build a process where we're going to get stronger and stronger. “We're not just building a squad for right now, but for the development of what we want this club to become, which we think is the right strategy.

“It would have been easy along the way to bring James Milner back or try to do some things like this to bring in Premier League experience or veteran players that understand the league. “In some ways, it's a little bit braver where we're at in what we're doing."

"You could say risky, but we believe in believing a process where we're going to pick up some good, young players, get them at a price where it still makes sense within our budget and help them to become Premier League stars, help them take the next step in their careers and, in the process, build this club to get bigger and stronger."

    Morning all.

I’ve exhausted all what I have to say regarding the defeat and Jesse. Regarding football matters, I can’t say I’m looking forward to the week ahead. Maybe after an exciting January transfer window it just feels like a kick in the teeth

Happy bank holiday morning all. Can’t see any change in manager for at least next four pl games. Couple of winnable games in there and fa cup game. Question is will we win any of them? Doubtful. Relegation looking very likely but as I’ve often said before, no big deal as far as I’m concerned. The last 18 months in pl has been a nightmare and can count the enjoyable games on two hands. The defeats don’t bother me that much anymore as I’ve become so accustomed to them

    Hi everyone
I aint going to say good morning, because it is not if your a Leeds fan.
Well I have not commented much on this forum lately, main reason is I couldn’t get into the Jesse Marsche knocking debate, I have always been a staunch supporter of his and for some reason thought things would change, but even I have now had enough, time to thank him for last season and wave him goodbye.
    But who next?.
I know!!! that guy we all took the p*ss out of what's his name the Ginger whinger Dyche, the guy who only new how to kick opponents off the park & play hoofball. But at Burnley maybe just maybe that was all he could do with the squad he had and no backing from the board.
Now fast forward to Saturday 4th feb, comes out with Everton and with a squad which were on paper a hell of a lot better than what he had at Burnley but were well quite Frankly (see what I did their) Sh** under Lampard and nothing but relegation fodder.
Watching MOTD I was quite gobsmacked, with jaw hitting the ground on numerous occasions, because by god, Everton were playing flowing football with a purpose for the first time in years, also with a trademark defence of his, that was very well drilled, believe you me the only way is up now for Everton under Dyche.
What I am trying to say is a new coach could make all the difference to this squad as well, but someone who has quality and has had experience of the PL before, someone that immediately springs to mind is Pochetino (not saying we would get him in particular) but because these players are better than results would suggest, just needs a good coach to get the best out of them.
Big question is can the board see what we the fans see, and make the change before it’s to late.
I sincerely hope so, as I for one don’t want another sixteen years in the wilderness.

I do not trust the owners of our club to make a quick decision and sack Marsch. He needs to go as he is clueless the yank plank.
If the board react and appoint a decent coach who knows the basics it will be a surprise. Do we trust Orta to have already lined up possibles. He should have looked at our results and planned for it. Why on earth did we employ Armas a man with all the passion of a eunuch. He looks a right arrogant and miserable bastard.

    Morning all

I've been pro-Marsch until yesterday and now the tide has turned. He needs to go. The results haven't been good enough and we're now 17 with our next 2 games against a scum side that is now on form after Ronaldo has gone. Marsch has made 10 or 11 signings since he came in and we've not improved, it's time for a change.

    Shyt morning all :emoticon-0148-yes:

Yesterday was Marsch’s season, right there in a nutshell. I fear it was also our season too because I see no way back now. Yes we could beat scum twice in 4 days but not very likely. So that will be 22 league games and only 4 wins which is a win ratio of 18%, the man is on the precipice.

Ristac was right to wish the scousers had beaten us because Marsch would have then been sacked, instead of getting a reprieve and a full transfer window. This now means we could be royally fooked.

The board went in heavy in the transfer window simply because relegation cannot be allowed to happen otherwise the sale to the 49ers could fall through. Jesse Marsch and his useless RedBullBall has hamstrung us all. What to do now? They even sanctioned bringing over his best mate and fellow useless coach Armas, what the hell was that all about. I seriously have never seen a deadman hang onto his job for so long and all because the club are trying desperately to survive.

Some pundit yesterday said Marsch should change jobs and become a motivational speaker because he can talk a good game. Missing the point here though because hes also a shyt motivational speaker too or his team would be inspired…… I notice the matchday thread is now gamblers anonymous and a poker tipster site now <laugh>

In fairness though the board need to twist or stick

Nathan Jones about to be sacked!

Marsch was favourite at 11/4, but Jones this morning is odds on at 4/9

Just like Southernwhite, I've had Jesse Marsch's back, but looking at us yesterday, he's just not right for us.
