Yes I get all that and agree re the poker strategy (my Monte Carlo roulette analogy can’t really correlate with football as it’s pure luck but I thought I’d put it out there as it’s a cool true story ) Playing the percentages in poker will mean in the long run a decent player will win overall. But in football, confidence is a major factor. The longer Leeds continue to be the better team without winning the more confidence will drop, and it’ll get to the point where we’ll be deservedly losing. In poker, confidence doesn’t come into it. Or if we knew Leeds would be the better team in all remaining 18 games it stands to reason we’d win quite a few of those - gambler’s fallacy.

Still, if we are to remain winless for a few more games, it’s better to do it while playing well. It gives us more hope that results will change for the better. That one victory will set us off on a winning streak.

It’s the hope that kills

A winless run in poker can result in going "on tilt" and that's where emotions (usually anger) take over your sanity and you start making incorrect decisions. The real skill is to recognise that and have a break, or stop playing or if you're really good, make that adjustment in your mind as you go. That takes alot of self discipline.

After the game yesterday, alot of fans went "on tilt" and emotion took over. Even at the ground it sounds like Leeds fans were fighting with Leeds fans. It happens.

We all get frustrated with results. I'm as down as anyone else on here I can guarantee that. I understand the name calling and wanting the board sacked, the manager gone etc. Its human nature.

I couldn't really argue if Marsch goes. The win % is poor. I feel he's been more than a little unlucky in lots of games but whilst we dominate games I'd wouldn't want to change it. You mentioned confidence and I regularly say that confidence is key at top level sports. The lads played OK yesterday and looked like the wanted it enough. If that changes then its definitely run its course.

When you've finished, remind the wife to get the chicken out of the freezer.

I think if Shako is on your side then a limbo contest would carry an unfair advantage to you.

Yeah but he is a proper turncoat too. I can respect most people for at least sticking to their opinions but Ells flip flopping makes me nauseous at the best of times.
