I can see howe has already been working on him and it's not there yet .. he's passing , but sometimes he should dribble and he doesn't.

Agreed. There were times where I was begging him to run at the defender as I knew he would beat him, only to pass to our stupid 10m tall left back who would then lump it back to Pope.

Saying that Max did leave Dan Burn exposed on several occasions by not tracking back

I think part of it at the moment is the conditions, yeah the pitch always gets a drenching before the games start but not to the extent it is at the moment, twisting and turning and even launching into sprints in these conditions the studs are tearing through the pitch rather than gripping. It's like when the wife pulls away from traffic lights and the car wheel spins to ****.

He is passing the ball to someone else instead of taking the defender on, like he is trying too hard to fit into the team rather than do the things that made him so dangerous in the first place.

Having said that, he was good in the first part of the season until his injury.

That Man City game he was incredible..3 assists.

    I still like him.

Exact point I was making earlier, you can almost see him overthinking things and doubting himself with what he's been instructed to do.

Perhaps but he tracked back more than Miggy did, apparently. The issue is Dan Burn moreso than anything else. He's the reason we focus down the right hand side and become somewhat predictable.

Personally think he’s bang average. Came to the Pl virtually unheard of and made a distinct impression as being the big fish in Steve Bruce’s ****ty puddle pond but not opposition have him figured out and is not in an actual team with actual tactics and he can’t do diddly squat.

It's the other way round, Burn was having to make up for Max, Max was on walkabout around the pitch at times, I said this on another thread that Burn looked to play a forward pass down the wing and Max had buggered off to the other side of the pitch, he kept drifting in far too much.

Burn is, in general, our weak link defensively. Even with the two Joe's helping him he still struggles. This'll play on the mind of ASM and might be why he wasn't his usual selfish self. He needs a defensively sound person behind him. I do think BDB is a good CB. It's not his fault he's playing LB and I genuinely love the lad

Never had issues when the not a left winger Joelinton not the not a left winger Willock played there. Odd

This. ASM isn’t going to work in this system. He isn’t built for is.

He can’t do a high press like Miggy and he doesn’t have the legs to get back.

Yes because he had their assistance. Even then he wasn't stellar

And he gave those players assistance hence why they’ve scored and made assists

ASM is just bangs average and lazy to boot

Most the squad is average but it's well coached and has a handful of very good players.

Indeed. But he’s in the average category and clearly isn’t able to be coached

I would say that's possibly not the case because he's played better than he had last weekend.

Gordon is a better player though
