I know but 52% of the Country can't be wrong, you're not trying to say that your normal ordinary working man has been taken for a ride (fool)...
It started in March last year. While the EU were still umming and ahhing. Not sure why this has become a line of attack tbh. It's one of the few things that's been done well, and it was enabled because we didn't have to consult anyone else before acting. Bit of a dead end in terms of political point scoring, but of course the narrative has to be 'everything bad' because we can't do anything but absolutes.
No one had a clue what they were voting for tbh. It's like a journey back in time to the days of the Empire ... ... Old fashioned passports, back to Imperial measurements, sealing our borders, thumbing our noses at those horrid foreigners, etc etc etc. But when you ask people they say they were voting leave to protect our fish quotas and the shape of our imported bananas

We're in NATO so absolutely do have to consult other people. We didn't have to consult the EU over every aspect of our lives, including military aid and national security. It is, however, better if the whole of Europe acted together ... ... we no longer have any influence in what other countries do which is a huge mistake imo.
Nissan says Brexit deal is 'positive' - and gives carmaker a 'competitive advantage' The company says it is well positioned to capitalise on the Brexit deal and is set to create more jobs on Wearside. https://news.sky.com/story/nissan-b...ves-carmaker-a-competitive-advantage-12194667
Thatcher rejected an EU referendum. She said it was far too complicated for the average man on the street to understand
We didn't have to consult the EU because they were already happily inserting themselves into every facet of the UKs existence. The whole of Europe still haven't come up with a unified response - look at the carry on with Leopard tanks. Russia would have won by now if we'd hung about waiting for it. You don't have to be politically and economically tied to each other to influence each others' actions. NATO is a mutual defence pact. Not a coordinating military organisation.
As did a lot of people I know, unfortunately nobody could predict just how incompetent our government would be at negotiating. Finally resorting to copy and paste of EU rules and regulations so they can spend more time trying to keep the lid on internal scandals.
That’s true, Brexit is poor because we have a s hit government. Still believe it’s the best thing we’ve ever done.
A lot of people voted to get rid of greedy bastards pocketing billions of our money ... ... arrogant men in suits who make up their own rules as they go along, are totally out of touch from reality and have no respect for decent working people. Anyone know how that all worked out
I think it's fine to think it was a good idea that has been very poorly implemented so far, and was always going to evolve and develop as time goes by. The way I look at it - we've given our kids and grandkids the same option we had. In or out. Not to find themselves stuck in an organisation which refuses to change and is ultimately set up to benefit France and Germany because they couldn't stop invading each other.
And the Tories will be voted out because of it. That's how democracy works. What you can going do if you're unhappy with the EU president? Absolutely nothing, you dont get a say.
And we can remove them. And they can't blame EU regulation for their ****ups, or inability to do something.
I liken the Brexit vote to the tory leadership vote when the ordinary party members voted in truss. No wonder thatcher wouldn't burden the population with a Brexit vote (source DH4). The tories then changed their voting system for the second leadership vote to keep the ordinary party members out of the vote. The benefit of that was that it prevented the liar blustering is way back into office As for Brexit, and really everything else which has been run down or broken in our society, the problems lies with the tories as they cannot do agreements, either with our European neighbours or unions.
Have you noticed that Liz Truss has started her 'Redemption Campaign'. She looks to be trying to rebuild I should have been given more time. My policies were correct. Time will tell. When she was elected, some former colleagues, admittedly not core supporters of hers, warned of some very severe character traits. Overconfidence in her own abilities. Refusal to consider ant advice that she didn't agree with. Intolerance towards any who didn't agree with her. Given that it took her only a few days to almost wreck The Economy, COULD SHE STILL BE DANGEROUS???
