Yeah, we're ****ed. And this was meant to be an "easier" run of games.

I had always been led to believe that Ralph's relationship with the players had gone wrong. From recollection, there was a similar issue with Puel. I have always suspected that there was a culture at the club where a number of players were seen as "awkward." Oddily enough, one of the players I thoiught was supposely ifficult was Bednarek and I was therefore surprised to see him make a return.

It is not surprising that there would be a ruck at the training ground today as someone like Jones would certainly exacerbate a fragile environment. Given the number of staff who have left in recent weeks (including prior to the appointment of Nathan Jones) you sense that there must be a febrile atmosphere there. What staggers me is that new players are hacked off within a fortnight of joining!

Quite a few people point to the relatively small gap between 17th and 20th this season of 4 points for this point in the season.

But we are currently at our absolute worst and we will only survive if a new manager (one that is completely out of the blue because there is no obvious candidate in our range) makes a massive difference and turns us around to winning about half of our remaining games and in that we will likely have to win multiple games against the top 6 as well, the change will have to be immediate.

This wasn’t the case when Jones joined.

I can see someone improving us, but I think it’s too late for someone making that much of a difference, not impossible yet but for my sanity I am now expecting us to go down and survival would be a nice bonus.

It’s on the boards head, they really ****ed themselves up appointing Jones and I expect Ankersen’s previously well respected professional reputation has taken a huge hit.

I do think we've been incredibly unlucky to run into Brighton, Fulham, Villa and Brentford when they're all in form. You could maybe even make a case for Forest too (albeit we played them very early on during their current good run). And guess what, with Wolves up next, they're just starting to run into some form too...

Everton are arguably been the only out of form team we've played since the WC, and that was duly our one win. Maybe if we'd been playing Leeds or Bmouth or West Ham during the past few weeks, we might have a few more points. Maybe even Liverpool or Chelsea, as odd as that sounds.

But this is in no way defending Jones one little bit. We've not just been losing these games, we've been performing badly and thoroughly deserve to be bottom. It's up to us to follow in the paths of Forest and Wolves, and turn bad form into good form. It doesn't just happen by accident. A decent manager helps.

Just watched the TSP discussion live. Everyone of the same voice. Surely the club can’t just ignore this?

Yes, I did too. Problem is, though, that Glen de La Cour doesn’t think Ankersen is the type who will own his mistake. I fervently hope he’s wrong.

I can see where you are coming from but I think this is too simplistic. You are correct with regards to the teams coming into form (new manager bounce ar Everton?) but this does not take into consideration the number of matches we have played without keeping a clean sheet or the paucity of goals from our front line. The more obvious issue is our failings. Some of the stats are incredible such as games gone without conceding or Ellyanousi's pitiful attempts of goal / scoring ratio. Jones was brought in to fix these issues yet he has effectively made them worse.

If you were a neutral, the underlining story in the PL this season is that managers with no experience in this league suffer. I think Cooper at Forest has probably rectified that to a degree but all the managers in the relegation zone are generally inexperienced.

Not if we sack Jones now. 37 may not be the threshold and even if it was, it's an average of 4 points every 3 games or so. Far from impossible with a competent manager. You're saying it's virtually impossible. Only with Jones.

It was 14/1 right after the 3-0 yesterday. Bookies belatedly smelling blood.

I honestly think we could appoint prime Sir Alex Ferguson and we would still go down. I think it’s too late. The easy games are gone, we have difficult games now where it will be hard to build momentum.

Hope I’m wrong, but I think we need to start preparing for the championship by bringing in a manager who 1) isn’t a toxic bellend 2) can rebuild a great team spirit for a promotion push.

I really don't think SR are going to pull the trigger. We've heard nothing from them, absolutely **** all. He's their man and they'll stick with him rather than admitting they've made one of the biggest mistakes in our clubs history. Their whole philosophy is built around stats and projections, they don't give a **** what fans/players/the media think.

When we're mathematically down, that's when the fans should turn on SR. They've ****ed the club with their aren't we clever reinventing football routine and it's cost us our PL status. Dickheads.

Lets hope the Saints web ITK info has some meaning then. Board meeting today, and one tomorrow apparently.

    Sorry Lincoln, this is nonsence.

There is a lot of money at stake here and I cannot see SR sticking with any appointment if this jeopardises their investments. I am not sure why holding your hand up to a mistake would be such an issue - especially if the results are so shockingly bad and their customer / fan-base is so critical. Most of the comments on this board are pure speculation yet it is common sense if your business model is failing so badly, you do not continue with it just to save losing face. Business men would rather lose face than lose money.

On top of this the momentum on line, in the media and in the press has been relentlessly critical of Jones. The only person I have read coming out in favour has been Thomas Franke and, surprise , surprise, this is a fellow manager and from a club where member of SR have connections. You would not expect a different response from him. I cannot see Jones retained in any circumstances and think he will not be in place for the Wolves game. There is no logic in retaining him following his statements to the press last night. The only thing open to conjecture for me is SR's future involvement in the club. Will they still be interested if we get relegated ? I have a funny feeling they will bomb Jones out this week but hang in there until the summer when they will probably attempt to off-load the club.

Pretty interesting basic defending overview from Dyche.

Amazing what a difference a manager can make… but the Welsh genius seems to think “systems don’t make a difference”. Utter tripe

Getting Steve Kean at Blackburn vibes about the whole situation. How long did he stay even when the entire fan base wanted him gone?
