    4:45 Moonlit Park @ 15/2

Carlisle is only one of two courses that Donald Mccain has had more bumper wins at than his local course (and not home to Pizza) Bangor-On-Dee. He is 19 from 63 at this course, and an equally impressive 10 from 35 with runners who are making their debuts in bumpers at the track.

In the list of winners are Maximilian, Makenberg, Harry Wood and Go Conquer. Makenberg is important here, as is Nell's Bells, Chuvelo and Vinstar. They are the four winners T Leslie has had from his 8 bumper horses at the course from this yard.

The mare has a pedigree to back up the numbers too, being a half to Danny Whizzbang and Lastbutnotleast, two black type performers, and the latter from this yard. She won by 19 lengths on her racecourse debut.

This race has three winning bumper horses, so it should be competitive, but without a penalty I fully expect Moonlit Park to be strong in the market and the 15/2 looked big enough for an early bet.

From the man who always says that the bumper is a great excuse to leave the racecourse early and beat the rush.

    Morning, team. Hope everyone well.

So then who wins the 'Performance of the Weekend' bauble??? For me it has to be State Man. Although an honourable mention to Emir Sacree who I felt ran his heart out to be a close 3rd, at big odds, in Sandown's 3 miler on Saturday.

Meanwhile, anyone impressed by anything in the 2 'Pertemps Qualifiers' at the weekend???

Whilst I note that there are forecasts that old girl Mother Nature is set to unleash some more cold weather on us shortly. Will it be a case of us, once again, going several days vainly searching for the 'rarely spotted NH fixture'. Makes you wonder.

Annie day in the first at Fontwell 7s looks fair . Annie looks to be on the better terms in this and ran well last time at the track over a few furlongs shorter but winning with a bit to spare .

Ref the Pertemps Qualifiers, I have to say that Call Me Lord continues to catch the eye under welter-burdens in this type of event. The old boy has lost none of his pep and there would be far worse e/w bets in the final.

I thought Banbridge ran an excellent Turners trial on better ground but Mighty Potter will be a tough nut to crack if taking up his entry.

He's a wonderful old boy isn't he - Call Me Lord. Since winning the International Hurdle (on his course debut) though his Cheltenham formline must be a slight worry re the Final -07P5.

Only issue with Call Me Lord is the eejit who keeps riding him.

Indeed, makes you wonder when noting some of the excellent jockeys who have ridden Call Me Lord in the past? Just cannot understand N.Henderson at times. Often, a right old oddball.

It’s called nepotism. Apparently happens a lot in racing. Who knew.

To be fair, Call Me Lord's worst recent performance was under James Bowen. Ben Bromley has two 2nd places and if he can get in the Pertemps Final off 142 the jockey's 7lbs could be very useful.

Very much out-of-touch lately, but I do fancy the Dansili gelding, Tamaris, in the finalé at Fontwell (16:30), a Class-5 Handicap Hurdle over a distance just short of 2m2f. Had a good pipe-opener on the Polytrack Flat at Lingfield 16-days ago. Promising conditional, Freddie Gingell (7), rides for the Joe Tizzard yard.
5/1 (Bet365) best price at time of writing.
