On my FM game, Jones has just been sacked by SR in his first season and replaced by Knutsen, after winning two games. Just saying, Rasmus,.,
All quiet today. He is still here. Let's not kid ourselves though, under 2 managers this season, we can't defend, we can't score and we can't even pass to our own players in midfield. Him going would be a start but there is a massive job to still do.
You are correct and the only player of any real note we have lost from last year is Romeu (possibly Broja as well) and we have 9 new players as well. Screams to me that is a confidence issue more than a lack of talent, a knock on effect from the second half of last season possibly that just hasn’t gone away
It is 100% a confidence issue.. Not helped by having a manger treat them like they are children and telling them that he knows best, when he frankly doesn't.
Yeah well we are most likely ****ed then, and if it is all about confidence then Ralph is the most to blame for last seasons run, not lifting the players in pre season and allowing the rot to continue into this season. There are other factors as well like not signing a striker or DM in the summer (we tried for both though, remember Garner?) but yeah it’s a collectively effort obviously and the players aren’t blameless either
TBH I wasn't really expecting any sacking to come today. Ralph was sacked on the Monday after the Newcastle defeat IIRC. Although that was played on Sunday. But I reckon tomorrow will be a very busy day in the boardroom.
Maybe they wanted to sleep on it before making a decision today, and announcing it tomorrow. Clutching at straws.
Its from a TIFO video about how Kompany has transformed Burnley to be more like MCity. The context is that under Dyche they would have been down at the opposite end of slow and careful, right next to ....Luton town. Getting the ball forwards doesnt mean great football.
"Training ground scrap this morning, was a board meeting today, Selles took a light training session this afternoon and another meeting scheduled for tomorrow. " ^^St Garrett from SW.
Just caught up with this thread and well, its unanimous that he's ****ed then. He's divisive when we needed unity, inexperienced when we needed authority, indecisive when we needed leadership, experimental where we needed certainty, inconsistent where we needed stability. Poor bastard, basically, he's going to go down in history as the worst managerial appointment in history and honestly, he's wrecked his career for the forseeable. No club in their right mind would take this on again and he won't survive here at saints.
A very balanced view. I myself like to look at everything as objectively as I can and it's hard not to look at the bigger picture of SR and when they came in just over a year ago and how ****e we have been for that year, something not right behind the scenes that is neither Ralph or Jones fault, they are just handling the situation differently!
I honestly believe that SR sat Ralph down and said the stats say this - you need to do that to fix it and he went with it. At the end of his tenure he was a different man to pre-SR. WE were'nt seeing 'Ralph football' anymore. 3 at the back experiments began when they came in. Not to say they ****ed it all up because things needed doing but now that nothing has improved under NJ and he's hinting at similar things I'm sure that we are being designed by committee with all the problems that entails.
TIFO? Indeed. I'm sure Jones would have convinced himself that that stat proved his team moved into attacks quickly while everyone else would have been thinking "HOOF".
Sigh. Looks like we're going into another day with this twat still in charge. Still, thinking positively, its one step closer to the end.
Just listening to the saints Twitter spaces. Someone just mentioned we need to average 1.29pts per game now to hit 37points. We basically have a 99% chance of going down at this point
