It did look a crazy pace until High Definition unseated. I'm surprised Townend got involved in that TBH. The Supreme market has taken a right old shake-up with Marine Nationale now fav and as low as 2/1, Facile Vega as big as 6/1 in places. The way Marine Nationale cantered over the field in the Royal Bond is still fresh in the memory but I worry that they aren't giving him another run and it is 22 years since the Royal Bond winner won the Supreme (Like A Butterfly). Stats aren't everything of course.
I hope Rare Edition hacks up in that silly named race at Huntingdon and we see him in the Supreme. Not that I fancy it, but because I need to wind up our trainer again.
He also has a Ballymore entry. Luccia is the one I want to see in the supreme - much better than sending her to the stupid mares novice hurdle. She has an entry at Ludlow on Wednesday - not sure if she will take it up though
When I saw that entry I got chills, she has two before at Southwell and Ffos Las, hope she runs in one of them.
Cheers pal. The first one ran well for a long way then stopped like it had been shot. Effernock Fizz finished 7th so not bad but not good enough.
Evidently, it's not a good sign that she's running there, she's had more entries in the last two or three weeks and I don't know why she hasn't finally run. Being very optimistic, they may be desperate for her to go anywhere, but my 25/1 e/w for MNH is pretty close to bin.
O'Connell is telling every man and his dog to get on the double of Marine Nationale and Good Land, extremely bullish here in the media about them both going to win, even before the race today he was saying it. I really like his confidence about both and at least he's not hiding and giving us the usual cliches. Hopefully he gets one winner and not a nice fried egg on his face.
A few days ago, in case what happened today happened, I did a double Supreme Gaelic Warrior 16/1- Ballymore Facile Vega 10/1.
Mullins none too complimentary about Paul Townend's ride aboard Facile Vega saying "he will have to ride him like a race horse the next time and not a machine, they went far too quick and everyone could see that"
