Did we look 'miles' better going forward or did we just take our chances and have Ingram to thank for saving a pen? Were we that different to any of the recent 1-1s?
I wondered at the time, and the highlights seem to confirm it, in the aftermath of the Ingram save. Longman seems to clip their player. The fact that he went down with a foot injury suggests he made contact with the players foot rather than the ball.
Tufan seems to be our most divisive player I think the reason he gets criticised if precisely because he does have natural ability that Slater and Doc can only dream about and people expect far more of him than of most players
Not at our best yesterday and we still won. Form team creeping up the table… Injuries and new signings yet to come… What’s not to like? Allam’s GONE.
It’s down to expectation. 50 grand VS an experienced International. If you were to compare the two, I guess it’s how much you value the work off the ball. Is it anywhere near as important as what you do with it?
I thought Tufan looked completely disinterested in the first half, he started linking up with Christie more in the second, but overall was fairly poor. I also thought bringing Connolly off was a mistake, it put us under unnecessary pressure and we did well to hang on in the end. I was surprised Woods didn’t come on, Seri was being marked out of the game and Woods would have given him more support to make things happen. Still, a win’s a win and we’re into the top half of the table and 6th in the form table and we’ve got to be happy with the progress made so far this year.
Callum Robinson is preparing to take his spot kick, getting himself calm and focused. Christie is standing behind him and shouts over to Ozan that he's gonna miss.
Think he also said something to Robinson, believe he said in the post match, think they used to play together.
One other thing of note yesterday, Connolly showed once again that you don’t get a penalty if you try and stay on your feet, if he goes down straight away it would have been given.
I said it my MOTM vote yesterday, Too honest, but to be fair he threw himself to the ground last home game which was a pathetic attempt. He'll learn, or be told to learn. I thought our 'gamesmanship' on the penalty was a big factor in the Ingram saving it. Delay the kick as long as possible, put doubts in the takers mind, two things the more street wise clubs have always done. We should now work on the ball boys and get them educated in the same way.
Watched Tufty closely yesterday. Don't get me wrong, great talent, but father time is telling. He looks a tad porky under the shirt. Legs are going-going-gone. Move him on, end of season.
I don't know what it is about him, but I always think he's older then he is. I know we want to keep him long term, but I think we may struggle to keep hold of him if he carries on like he is
