Think you’ll be surprised. There will be many managers looking at this squad, what the owners have spent this season etc, thinking, I couldn’t do any worse than that muppet currently in charge.
Have I missed the news about the B team thing not going down well with certain staff members? I can imagine the players weren’t happy, but haven’t actually seen any reports about staff/coaches and their views on it.
Surely we just let Selles take charge in the meantime or if we can’t get someone we want. Better option than Jones.
I guess what I meant was because we’re highly likely to go down, the type of manager we can attract is likely to be a Gerrard/Lampard (who would both probably be good in the Championship) rather than a Tedesco type. When we sacked Ralph we could have attracted a much higher calibre manager than we can now.
Lage would be very sensible I think. Definitely builds a team from the back which is exactly what we need.
Long cut of yesterday’s press conference. He references ‘certain players and internationals’ in this one, so we can assume that’s what he’s talking about when he says he’s compromised for people.
Even taking out the utterly delusional post match comments, it seems such a strange managerial appointment. SR seem to have embraced an identity of being forward thinking and innovative and yet they opt for a manager who, even in the championship, has had his style of football questioned. He has no form of international reputation and no real charisma either. So odd.
Ah that does make sense. Also explains maybe the celebration after Everton? As if to say ‘all is forgotten?’
