http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11688/7297802/Grayson-eyes-top-two-finish Grayson has said that he believes we should be aiming for the top two. He's obviously going to say that but i wanted to see what people believe we can actually finish after the first 15 games. For me, i feel we have the potential to finish in the top 2, i seriously do but we need to stop dropping points when we should be winning and we need to scrape draws and wins out of games when we not playing as well. A top 2 team would have come away from both coventry and cardiff with 3 points, same with the brighton game. We're dropping too many points but if we can rectify that, i feel we will definitely be contending
We've also been walking away from **** performances with 3 points. Remember palace, bristol, peterborough? I'd argue we should have really taken 3 from West Ham as well, we lack the ability to kill teams off when we're on top.
If we stop dropping points because of stupid mistakes in games we should win then we're just as capable as any other team in the league.
Until the fatigue sets in from us not having enough strength in depth, and the stupid mistakes keep coming because we don't have enough experienced and commanding players. I hate to say it, but I think this squad will be scrapping for playoffs at the end of the season rather than autos.
due to the nature of our play teams come to Elland road knowing they can cause an upset. Palace absolutely battered us and thankfully they couldn't get a 3rd to kill the game off. Paddy (and Lonergan) saved us in the bristol game as if Maynard had scored we certainly wouldn't have won even with 11 yet going down to 10 brought the crowd to life. Compare this to teams going to Southampton and with their incredible home winning run teams go there expecting to get beat and Southampton deliver the results no excuses. West Ham's squad is incredible and with Sam in charge he will get them in the autos.
We will be lucky to make the playoffs, could be worse though, we could be lesta who spent loadsa money on a loada ****e and are gonna be fighting relegation the way things are going for the Thai champions
'It's better to try and fail than to have never tried at all' That's how i'd sum it up if both Leeds and Leicester failed to make promotion. A certain ken bates won't see it like that though thats for sure.
Leeds-18, remember i was in the optimists group of not606. I do think we will show ambition in january, we have the money to spend from schmeichal and gradel. Some of that will go on Pugh and keogh but we will spend around 1mil away from them 2 i think. Enough to push us through, remember if grayson doesnt make top6, then he will get sacked.
Our squad will do well to reach the playoffs. We´re too weak in the CB position with no-one commanding or a leader. Lack creativity and width with the sole responability on Snodgrass. Our team lacks goals - we´re missing the pace and direct attacking of Gradel. The mid season dip is inevitable because we don´t have the squad to cope. If Snodgrass is injured...we have Lloyd Sam, hardly a quality replacement. If Howson or Clayton are injured, we have aproblem. No strength in depth.
His form may have dipped since injury but I'd hardly say Paddy isn't a leader or commanding, and he seems to be returning to the player we knew. Sam is a quality replacement IMO, also I don't see what Vayrynen's done wrong other than get his only proper game out of position (like Howson all of this season). I feel in January we need to get a decent CB in to allow us to ship out Bruce/Bromby, a proper backup RB and a proper replacement for Gradel (Adomah please).
The theory is, to get auto promotion you should win your home games and draw your away games. At this stage of the season we should have 32 points. We are currently 7 pts adrift of this target. Southampton are 4 pts in front of target and West ham 1pt adrift. Auto promotion--I don't think so. Play offs--a good possibility.
Would you believe that Grayson is apparently on the four man shortlist to replace Nigel Pearson? He is according to our local radio station, though to be fair, they are ****ing useless.
Top 2 is dooable, but we can't afford to drop silly points with stupid last minute goals against (aka Coventry). I think SG also needs to keep the attacking options open with Sam & Nunez both making the bench, particularly for home games when sides often park a bus. Time will tell. Keep the faith one & all. MOT
