Nonsense. Managers complain all the time about the lack of training time to work on things when playing weekend and mid-week. That gap meant he had weeks to work with the players on fitness and tactics and let them know how he wanted to play. How many players has Dyche signed at Everton?
Exactly, he's had 12 games and managed to win 5 of them. It's not been the unmitigated disaster that some think it is. We need to take more of the chances and keep a few more clean sheets and stop basic defensive errors, fine margins.
So ignore the first comment? Where there was a big gap unless you were expecting an instant bounce at Anfield. The negative people on here make me want Jones to succeed even more
Dyche is clearly a better manager than NJ and it’s not even close. I wouldn’t have wanted him particularly, but as we have given up on playing attractive football anyway we 100% should have gone for him.
There have been some very narrow losses that could change with a quality scorer and creator added, we'll wait and see what happens now we potentially have them. Every Saints match is important to me btw.
Doubt he would’ve wanted to come anyway, apparently very settled in the north, but yeah is bad news for us that he ended up at Everton
Ignore what first comment? The Liverpool game was an absolute free hit with no expectations that gave him the opportunity to see the players in an actual game. He then had what was essentially a second pre-season to work with the players. I don't even think the club should sack him at this point. We've signed the players he wants (as he seems to have acknowledged) so switching manager at this point would make no sense. But the idea his start at the club has been good is bizarre and the suggestion he needs more time to work with the squad and improve things is just complete horseshit. Good managers are able to get their ideas across and improve a team in just a few days and he's had months.
Seriously. We're less than a week shy of three months since he was appointed, including several weeks of training time prior to our first competitive match. If Jones has been unable to get players to adapt to his ideas, at this point that's his problem.
How have we spent over 100m this season across two windows and are still playing Elyounoussi, Diallo and Bednarek? And how is Walcott making the bench? Over Orsic or just any promising youngster
This is my issue. 12 games is ⅓ of a season practically and we don't have 'give it time' as we are bottom of the table. We needed someone to improve us immediately. Just like HE has said the signings are for. I have zero doubt that Ralph would have done better than the last 12 games. Zero doubt.
And unfortunately I have zero doubt that if Ralph was backed with these players he would do better with them. That said I’m not sure he’d use Orsic as a starter either because of his lack of pressing / defensive stats
Plenty of valid reasons to criticise Jones but I don't get it with Orsic. Does anyone on here think he has been anything other than useless every minute he has played for us? Not saying he is an awful player, but it is pretty clear he isnt ready to start in the premier league.
