When we didn’t recall Cresswell and we allowed Llorente to leave on loan, I felt sure we were going to bring in a first team CB or LB For me it’s put Firpo in at LB and have one weak position, as you pointed out, too much chopping and square pegging we end up with three players out of position, that along with injuries was Bielsas downfall
… can’t argue with that - I may not have thought llorente was a PL defender, but letting him go without a (grown up) replacement was a strange one. Don’t think there’s many Leeds fans who don’t scratch their heads over the left back situation.
We can’t put any game down as a likely win. How could we. As pointed out early in every team In this league are strong on their day. Difference in top ones and us lot is consistency. Arsenal have been quality in nearly every game, they’re tops. Everton crap in every game. Doesn’t mean we’ve any better a chance if points against Everton than arsenal. Fans need to stop thinking that way
Who knows but that is where the fun starts. Mid table all season is boring. The ups and downs of a relegation dogfight brings interest and a nervous thrill to matchdays. I was at the Brighton game last season and it was a great day out.
Bizarrely enough speak to arsenal fans and ask them who the only side to actually outplay them this season… Leeds. We do seem to have a knack of going to places like goodison and the city ground and getting turned over. Hopefully given upcoming fixtures we can address that.
Everton game is very end to end. Couple of good chances for Everton and Saka has had one cleared off the line. Everton fighting hard but also working hard. Not sure it's sustainable for 90 minutes but we'll see. Great game tbh.
Pressure is really on now with Everton winning - HTF did that happen!! Just what we didn't want. We really have to up our game now with the new signings. Nothing less than a win against Forest will be acceptable in my view. Wolves and Leicester......winning....****s sake.
Marsch said loaning Diego Llorente to Roma "leaves us a little bit short at the back." He added that he needed the move as much for his personal life.
so takeaways from that? 1. Llorente’s mrs prefers pasta to fish and chips. And 2. Shaks is replacing llorente
I’m guessing he’d expressed a desire to leave hence Wober was brought in before he was allowed his move but… Signing a new contract extension a month before makes little sense to that theory
I think the contract extension was an agreement between all parties to ensure we got a decent price. of course Jesse told us that the contract extension was because good centre halves are hard to find so you try and keep them. So Jesse, has played the salesman… what he meant was centre halves are hard to find… so pay up Roma.
