I'm looking forward to seeing if Geldhardt works out as CF for us. If he does some of the panic will subside and we might still be make top 6.
No offence Bart but you fear the worst most weeks. The lads pleasantly surprise you often, here's hoping they do it again. 0-2.
How far is that from the ground. Our hotel is in Shepherds Bush. We get into Kings Cross around 1.30. Lots of beer to drink
A key strikers job, ( apart from the obvious) is to be up the field and give the defence an 'out' ball, so to receive the ball probably with you back to the goal, hold the ball up and then pass to you teammates rushing out of defence. During our strikerless period our only out ball was to the wingers, the opposition soon sussed this and would double up. So one thing I will be looking for is whether Gelhardt can do this piece of work When in the off season we tried Jack Diamond as a CF, we played an over the top (Vardy time of tactic) ball for him to run onto... Ps Stewart did both, hold-up and OTT very well.
Tony Mowbray: "We have looked at every market and discussed the free players. “At the moment we are happy to do with what we’ve got. “I say happy but we were left disappointed with some of the targets that we had. “I think it’s right to say there is a plan and we are trying to create an identity and a culture and I think it’s important that the right players come in that we identify and go through the processes. “I would prefer to go into these games with the players we have got than bringing in any number nine because he has a number nine on his shirt.
Pritch and Cirkin back in the squad for Sat. Thnk the team and bench picks itself Patterson Hume Ballard Batth Alese Neil Michut Roberts Amad Clarke Gelhardt Subs: Bass, Anderson, Huggins, Cirkin, Ba, Ekwah, Bennette
Yeah wasn't sure on him. Hasn't played all season so will 1 week's training be enough for the bench? Other than that, Rigg?
When everyone's fit or not suspended our bench will be ridiculously good ... ... this is where we can get above the likes of Luton or Blackburn who don't have a great squad. We could have Ba, Pritchard, O'Nien, Huggins, Rigg, Lihadji, Jewi, etc, all hoping to get on the pitch.
Just listened to the Speakman interview, this club is in good hands and is defiantly going places KTF lads
I've listened to it yesterday and then wanted to hear what Mowbray said on the presser and I'm delighted with both of their comments. Both are clearly on the same page and we won't be signing anybody in a panic just to get a body in.
Milwall's home form in the league is obscene, they have to lost there since September. Head says 1-1 or 1-0 to them, heart says we're breaking that home unbeaten streak. I voted with my heart
Obviously we signed the young loanee from Leeds and I sincerely hope he is 'the bees knees'. But the team is still weaker at the end the window than the start of the window. We have signed/loaned some great young players, all credit to the recruitment team. But when the crisis hit and there was only a short time to bring a couple of strikers in...the recruitment failed. Apparently we had targets but either they didn't want to come or we wouldn't stump up the cash or Everton. "A crisis is an opportunity riding on a wild wind" But all that is now in the rear view mirror, we have built up some momentum and I hope it continues. A result at Millwall?
